Positive Thoughts, Sympathy, Friendship Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

There was something about this card I found on Pinterest that just caught my attention and I had to give it a try.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Mint Macaron. My card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  The original card opens at the bottom. I was going to make it that way but when I went to get the card stock, there was a piece already folded.  So I decided to use it because I didn't want to cut a full sheet.

Then I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Smoky Slate card stock.

And the Whisper White piece was cut 3-5/8 x 4-7/8".

I stamped the large fern leaf image from the "Positive Thoughts" set using Mint Macaron ink.  I stamped the leaf on the left and then stamped the one on the right and then the middle one without inking the stamp.  One inking, three images.

The words are also from the same "Positive Thoughts" set. They were stamped using Basic Gray ink.

I taped the Whisper White piece to the Smoky Slate piece.

I took some white baker's twine and taped the end on the back of the left side and wrapped it around the card three times and then taped the other end on the back of the right side of the card.  I taped them down on the back using scotch tape.

I tied a bow by slipping a piece of twine under the three wraps and I tied it in a knot and then I tied the bow.  I didn't straighten out the bow before I took the photo. It really does look nice.

I added Dimensionals to the back of the two layers and I set it in place on top of the card base.

I added a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside of the card and it was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make and I REALLY like how it looks.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to pop in today,
Wanda

  1. I really, really like the simplicity of this card. Being able stamp the image three times without reinking made a lovely image! Love I love Mint Macaroon ink and card stock.

Thanks for this beautiful yet simple design. I struggle with sympathy cards so it was very helpful to find your design!
