Peaceful Moments, Flowering Foils, Birthday Card

Sorry for the delay in posting.  I am having server issues.  The photo is stuck in my email and I can't access it.  But in the meantime I will start writing up my post and hopefully when I'm done I will be able to access the photo.  The only problem I see after I can access the photo is that blogger doesn't always let me put the photo where I want. I usually add the photo first and then the words.  So if my post looks odd, this is why. And if it looks normal, then "never mind"!  LOL

I found this card on the internet. I was very disappointed that I couldn't access the page it was posted on. The card said to go to their blog, the card was posted there.  Yup, I went to the blog and 10 pages of looking, I gave up. I like it when the direct link is added with the post.  It is less stressful for the person looking for the info. Especially if it's an older card and you post every day like I do.  SO, here is my version of the card.  Oh, you can see the original card here.  If you have the time you can look though the pages there. I made it to page 10, perhaps you might be able to start there.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Petal Pink. I cut my card on the short side at 4-1/4. This card measured 4-1/4" x 11".  I scored it at 5-1/2" and folded it.  So my card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of "Flowering Foils" Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I sponged on some Flirty Flamingo ink.  I taped the DSP in place on top of the card base. 

Here is where I changed the card. I don't care for that kind of fun fold. I prefer a regular folded card and so do those who purchase my cards or that receive cards from me.

I cut a 2-1/2" x 3" piece of "Flowering Folds".  And I cut a 2-3/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock for the layer. I taped the two pieces together.

Next I got out a "Pearlized Doily" and set it aside.

I die cut the fourth largest scalloped circle using Petal Pink card stock.  

I die cut the second smallest "Stitched" circle die using Whisper White card stock.  I was going to just stamp the words right on the piece because I didn't have the images that went with the punch. But I thought I would try to work with it.

I fussy cut 3 sets of flowers from the "Flowering Foils" DSP and I sponged on some color. I did leave a couple of the flowers without color.

I stamped the words from the "Peaceful Moments" set using Flirty Flamingo ink on Whisper White card stock.  And I punched them out using the "Label Me Fancy" punch.  I also punched out a Flirty Flamingo one too.  I taped the words to the Flirty Flamingo piece together, leaving the top and left sides showing the Flirty Flamingo color.

I cut a 5" piece of the "Polka Dot" Tulle ribbon.  And I cut a 4-1/2" piece of the "Metallic Edge" ribbon. I colored it using my dark Petal Pink Blends pen.  I folded the ribbons in half and taped them to the center on the backside of the scalloped circle.  Then I taped the scalloped circle to the doily.

I taped the Whisper White stitched circle to the top of the scalloped circle.  

I added Dimensionals to the word layers and set the piece in place on top of the stitched circle, a little towards the bottom and not quite center. 

I set the flowers sets in place using snail tape. 

I added "Champagne" rhinestones to the center of each of the cut flower sets.  I had not used these rhinestones yet so it was kind of fun to be able to.  I don't usually buy colored rhinestones because I have (or I think I have) all the colors of the Blends and I can color my rhinestones with them.

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside of the card and the card was done.  

If you like the original card and want to make it, you will have to figure out how big to cut the front piece and the attached fancy fold piece.  I just like this kind of card and I do like how this turned out.
