Hoot Hoot Hooray, Baby Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

Today I'm going to share with you a very simple and quick card you can make using the "Hoot Hoot Hooray" stamp set. This is a fun set, it's got a birthday greeting, an owl, a happy cloud and a flower.  It's a pretty versatile set.  Today I wanted to play with the cute teddy.  This could also be used as a child's Christmas card by removing the words from the bottom and replacing them with something seasonal.  I'm always looking for versatility in the stamp sets I buy.  Mostly!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 2-5/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Pleased as Punch" 12" x 12" paper pack.  The backside of this piece of DSP is hearts. I didn't buy the heart punches that were in the spring catalog. If I need to use a heart, I will probably fussy cut it but for now I'm using the backside. I think this checkerboard image is pretty. It's too bad there isn't a light blue on in the package. I taped it to the bottom part of the card.

I stamped the bear on the rocking horse from the "Hoot Hoot Hooray" set using black Memento ink.  I colored the rocking horse with both light and dark Crumb Cake Blends Pens.  Then I colored in the rest of the image with markers.  I colored the bear in using the Blushing Bride marker and the reins were colored in using the Flirty Flamingo marker.

I die cut the image with the 2-3/8" circle die. I also die cut a Blushing Bride scalloped circle for the border.  I taped the two circles together and I set them in place on top of the DSP using Dimensionals.  And the card was done.

I like this quick and simple looking card. I debated whether or not to add some texture to the top part of the card but I thought I would just keep it clean and simple.

I thank you SO much for taking the time to pop in today,
Wanda
