Welcome Easter, Easter Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

Today's card was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest.  I liked the use of the punches and the Designer Series Paper(DSP).

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that I used the "Eyelet Lace" embossing folder on a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Daffodil Delight card stock. I taped that piece to the front of the card base.

I cut a 3" x 4" piece of DSP from the "Best Dressed" 6" x 6" paper stack.  I taped it to a 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Whisper White card stock. I set it in place on top of the embossed piece using Dimensionals.

I die cut the second largest stitched square framelit using Whisper White card stock. 

I stamped the chick from the "Welcome Easter" stamp set using black Memento ink. 

I colored the chick using both light and dark So Saffron Blends pens.  I colored the beak, comb and feet using both light and dark Pumpkin Pie Blends pens.

I die cut a scalloped square that was just a big larger than the square the chick was done on.  Daffodil Delight card stock was used for that. I taped the chick to the scalloped square. I set the squares in place on top of the DSP layered piece using Dimensionals.

Next I stamped the words from the same "Welcome Easter" set using black Memento ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock that measured 7/8" x 2-7/8".  After stamping, I clipped the ends to give them that ribbon look.  I set the words in place using Dimensionals.

I punched out a Whisper White flower using the "Small Bloom" punch from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  And I punched out a Daffodil Delight leaf cluster using the "Leaf" punch.  I used a dot of glue to hold the flower on the leaf.  I also used a dot of glue on the back of the leaves where they touched other card stock and that was how I set that piece in place.

For the final touch, I added a rhinestone to the center of the punched flower and the card was done.

This little chick is SO darn cute.  I don't usually make many Easter cards and I'm hoping to use this set for some children's cards because I don't like getting sets that aren't very versatile.
