I have been seeing a lot of cards on Pinterest that have the Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut at an angle so I thought I would give it a try today. I have done this before but it's been a while. It's simple enough to do too.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of the DSP from the "Best Dressed" 6" x 6" paper stack. I made two cards because of the way the DSP was cut. I cut the DSP at 2-1/8" on right side and 3-3/4" on the left side.
I stamped the "Buffalo Plaid" image using Daffodil Delight ink on Whisper White card stock. I cut the stamped image 4" x 5-1/4". I set the DSP piece on top so I could mark it to get the angle right for the card front. One piece was a little shorter but that is okay, just go for it!
I did cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock and I taped the DSP to the top part of it and I taped the Buffalo Plaid piece to the bottom of it. There was a little big of a gap on the second card front but it got hidden by the 1/4" strip of Old Olive card stock. That piece measured 1/4" x 5-1/2". I just grabbed a quarter sheet and cut it off from there. I glued the strip in place over the seam and gap. You may want to see if you need your strip a little wider or not. But this is where you hide that gap!
Next I stamped the words from the "Little Ladybug" Sale-a-Bration set. I stamped them directly on the card front using black Memento ink
Then I taped the panel to the front of the card.
I punched out two large and two small daisies per card using Whisper White card stock. I glued them together.
I punched out the Old Olive leaves using the "Leaf" punch. I glued one to the back of the large daisy and after I set the daisy in place using a Dimensional, I glued the other one just under it. Then I set the small daisy in place using a Dimensional as well.
I added the gold "Faceted Gems" to the center of each flower. I needed to use more of these. I'm guessing they will expire soon. But if they do, I will probably still use them until they are used up. I'm not hanging on to expired things like this if I can help it.
The card was done and ready for the person it was made for! Plus I have a spare!
Thank you SO much for taking the time to visit today,
Wanda
