Looking for a quick and simple card that makes a big statement without a lot of time and work? This is it. I LOVE this layout. It's perfect for those smaller pieces of Designer Series Paper (DSP) that you have sitting around.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Balmy Blue. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 3" x 3" piece of DSP from the "Best Dressed" 6" x 6" paper pack. Cutting it 3" x 3" allowed me to make 4 cards from one piece of DSP. Plus I had a piece that was just a bit over 3" so I cut it to 3" x 3" and made five cards all together.
I cut a 3-1/8" x 4-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock and I taped the DSP to the upper part.
I stamped the words from the "Here's a Card" set using Gorgeous Grape ink.
I took some retired ribbon that I had and wrapped it around the panel and taped the ends on the back using scotch tape. I then taped the panel to the card base. And VIOLA! The card was done.
It's such a quick card to make. I was going to make a bow but I thought I would just keep it simple. Plus I was making five cards and I really wasn't in the mood to make five bows!!! SO lazy!! LOL

I can see myself using up some of my DSP stash with this layout. I would make not only birthday cards, but thinking of you, thank you and sympathy. This would also make a great Mother's Day card too! And with the right DSP you could make wedding and anniversary cards as well.
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
I love this pretty card and the simple design. I like your suggestion of making cards for different occasions using this design. Thanks for the inspiration. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I can use up some on 6 x 6 paper and let the paper inspire me when I don't have the energy for more complex designs.
