Bonanza Buddies, Children's Birthday Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

Today's card is from Pinterest but with a few changes. You can see the original card here.  What caught my eye here was the dotted Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Birthday Buddies 12" x 12" pack.  It's festive and fun!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Bermuda Bay card stock.  The sheet of card stock was cut in half on the short 8-1/2" side.  This card measures 4-1/4" x 11".  I scored it at 5-1/2" and folded it in half.

I taped on a piece of the DSP to the bottom of the front of the card.  My piece was 4" wide and not 4-1/4" like the original card shows.  My piece was left over in my package and I figured I could make it work.

Because my DSP wasn't wide enough, I took a scrap piece of Daffodil Delight card stock and cut it 1/4" x 4".  I glued it in place. I was going to use tape but I thought I would make a mess of it. It was much easier to draw a line of glue than to get the tape across the card perfectly. Plus my tape was wider than the strip.

Next I die cut the tag that was in the "Bonanza Buddies" bundle.  I used Whisper White card stock to cut it.

Then I stamped the words from the "Bonanza Buddies" set using Bermuda Bay ink.

I stamped the bird on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock and colored in the beak using my Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight markers.  I did stamp the bird using my Stamparatus so I could get a nice solid black bird.  I didn't want it to have light spots or blotches.  The Stamparatus has made me a better stamper. My images are crisp and clear and look more professional.  I rarely stamp without it anymore.

I die cut the circles using the "Layering Circles" Framelits.  I die cut the small one using a scrap piece of Coastal Cabana and the scalloped circle was die cut using a scrap piece of Bermuda Bay.  I taped those two circles together and then I taped them to the tag.

I set the tag in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals and I added the bird using Dimensionals as well.

I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside and the card was done.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
