Today's card is fresh from the Internet! I was looking for a quick and easy card to make using the new "Painted Poppies" set and this is what I found to make. You can see the original card here.
The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock that was cut on the short side so it measured 4-1/4" x 11" before folding.
I stamped a half-sheet of Whisper White card stock full of poppies from the "Painted Poppies" set, using black Memento ink. The "Painted Poppies" set is in the new 2020 Spring Catalog.
I used the matching stamp to color each flower in Poppy Parade ink. Just ink it up and stamp on the flower. The image has light and dark spots to make it look like the flower has dimension.
I cut the half-sheet on the short side at 1-3/4". I also cut a 2" x 11" strip of Basic Black for the layer.
I set the two pieces on top of each other and set it on the card base so I could see where to cut it. I made sure the strip hung over on the left so I could trim it up later. It had too be cut at an angle and that was the easiest way to do it. I taped the pieces together after cutting. I then taped them to the card, lining up the one side I cut. Then I trimmed the left side.
The words are from the "Happy Birthday to You" 2020 Sale-a-Bration set. I thought they were SO pretty and perfect for this layout. I used black Memento ink to stamp them.
I stamped one of the middle size flowers and two of the smaller ones in the set using black Memento ink. I fussy cut them out. I set them on my work surface and I stamped them with the same stamp I used for the flower centers.
I set the fussy cut flowers in place using Dimensionals and the card was done! So simple and quick, including the time it took to do the fussy cutting!
