Little Ladybug, Thank You Card

My order arrived.  I have mixed emotions about it. My mindset was to play with more of the sets that I have from the big catalog that I've hardly played with (because other orders came in and I played with the new stuff instead! - BIG lesson learned here).  But I gave into temptation and opened the box!  It had been here for 5 hours before I opened it!!  See, I told you about my mindset.  But that was a fleeting moment!! LOL

I opened the new "Little Ladybug" set. It's a Sale-a-Bration set.  There's four cute ladybugs in the set, plus a big flower, four tiny ladybugs on one stamp and words, seven of them.  A great set to have.

This is what I came up with.  I used a folded half-sheet of Real Red card stock. On top of that I cut a 2" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper from the 6" x 6" Regals Pack.  I thought the gingham would look the best of all of them. Ideally would have been  polka dot paper but there isn't any. the designs were changed and out went the dots. So you just try to make things work.  And I think this works.

I cut a 5-1/8" x 2-1/8" piece of Basic Black card stock for the layer. I taped the two pieces together and I taped them to the left side of the card.

I stamped the ladybug using black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock.  I die cut it using the oval die. I also die cut a scalloped oval using Basic Black card stock.

I colored the ladybug using my Blends pens. I used Real Red, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, light Petal Pink and light Flirty Flamingo for the blushing cheeks!

Next I stamped the words from the "Little Ladybug" set using black Memento ink.  I taped the two ovals together and set them in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

I took some retired black ribbon and tied a bow and used glue dots to set it in place under the oval.

This was a very fun and cute card to make.  I need to make a couple more thank you cards.  The new sets I got should inspire me!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
