Little Ladybug, Birthday Card, 2020 Sale-a-Bration

This "Little Ladybug" set should have been called "Stinking Cute Little Ladybug"!  It's so darn cute. I'm having a lot of fun playing with it.  Today I had some ladies over stamping and three of us copied this card. Yup, copied. I found it on Pinterest. The link is a dead end and there's no name on the card to say who to give credit to.  You can see the original card here, there are a few subtle changes.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a piece of Real Red that was textured with the "Layered Leaves" embossing folder.

I cut a 1-1/4" x 5" strip of some Basic Black Designer Series Paper (DSP) from a retired Neutrals pack.  I didn't have the black gingham DSP.  Just using what I have, my motto this year.  And I also cut a 5-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of Basic Black card stock for the layer.

I used one of the stitched rectangles to make the Whisper White focal piece. I didn't have the scalloped stitched rectangles, but they are on order!!!  I didn't see them in the catalog the first hundred times I've looked through it. LOL

Next we all stamped our flower. I had set it up in the Stamparatus so it was easier to do and you could ink it up and not worry about missing a spot inking.

The leaves and stem were colored in using both light and dark Old Olive Blends pens.  The center of the flower was colored in using both light and dark Daffodil Delight.

The ladybug was stamped on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock.  She was colored in using both light and dark Real Red Blends pens.  The face was colored in using the light Petal Pink Blends pen and her cheek was colored in using the dark Petal Pink Blends pen.  Her hands were colored in using the light Smoky Slate Blends pen. Then we fussy cut her out.  UGH. It wouldn't have been bad but we were each making four of them.  It was okay cutting it out until you got to the antenna.

The Whisper White piece was set in place using Dimensionals.  The ladybug was set in place using Dimensionals.  I added a few crystal rhinestones because I got a bit of ink on the flower petal.  I pressed down too hard and there was ink on the inside part of the petal.  But it hid well with the rhinestone.

I also did the words differently.  I stamped the "Happy Birthday" from the "Little Ladybug" set using black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock.  I had done it on a small strip of scrap Whisper White card stock and cut a layer behind it 1/8" larger.  I set the words in place using Dimensionals as well.  On my other three, I have not assembled them yet so I am just going to stamp the words directly onto the Whisper White panel and hope it looks good.

We all had a fun time making these.  Even with the fussy cutting!!!  I just think it's SO cute. This ladybug has a bit of a "sass" to her!

I hope you enjoyed this card and I thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
