Bonanza Buddies, Children's Birthday Card

I was at a stamping event yesterday and one of the card we made used this "Bonanza Buddies" set. We fussy cut the three animals and set them on a fun layout.  I was thrilled because I knew I had ordered the set and the Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I opened up Pinterest this morning and saw this cute card, so I just had to make it.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. I changed it from the half-sheet of Crushed Curry. I cut my Crushed Curry piece at 5-3/8" x 4-1/8".

I cut a Whisper White piece at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and I cut the DSP from the "Birthday Bonanza" 12" x 12" package 3-3/4" x 5".

Before I taped all of those layers together, I die cut the banner pieces from the Crushed Curry piece.  No one will know that there's pieces missing between the layers.

I die cut the Koala bear from one of the sheets of DSP.  I die cut the hat from a scrap piece. The Koala I chose didn't have a hat. Some do and some don't.  And you did read that right, "die cut".  This set has matching die cuts!!!  I forgot it was a bundle and I ordered it that way!!  Yay, no more fussy cutting.  Well, except for some scrap pieces that have party hats that were not snipped off on the corners or tip.  I just fussy cut them and put them in a little zip baggie for later use.

After taping all the layers together, I added the banners.  Now I didn't pay close enough attention, but I should have taped the DSP to the Whisper White piece, add the banners, trim the ends and then continue to tape the remaining layers together.  So I had some creative snipping to do!

The dies also have this fun stitched tag one. I used Whisper White card stock to cut it out.  I had a 1/4 sheet of the card stock and after cutting the one, I decided to cut a second one.

I stamped the words on it using black Memento ink. I did set the piece up in my Stamparatus.  And I don't know why, but I decided to stamp both pieces I die cut out.

I took some ribbon I had that was kind of stiff and I looped it through and made the knot. I pulled hard and the card stock ripped.  SO I got out the other piece I die cut and stamped and I used some softer ribbon and knotted it.  I set that piece in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

I taped the Koala in place and added his cute hat.  That had I had die cut from a scrap piece of DSP.  I glued the tiny adorable PomPom in place from the "Assorted PomPomS"container and the card was done.

Because I used Whisper White card stock for the base of my card that I didn't need to add anything to the inside of the card for writing.

I think this card is SO darn cute and I LOVE the words here.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

What a cute birthday card, Wanda, with a very sweet sentiment. I love the koala on the tag and the banner looks like a tent to me. Have a great day!
