I'm having some fun playing with the new stuff. I found this fun one on Pinterest. It was a "Z" fold card but I converted into a regular opening card.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Bermuda Bay card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
On top of that I taped a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Basic Black card stock.
Next I cut a 3-3/8" x 4-5/8" piece of Whisper White. Then I cut a 4-5/8" x 1-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the new "Birthday Bonanza" 12" x 12" paper pack. This pack has SO many cute images in it, even the backsides are cute. That makes it a bit difficult to choose sometimes. I taped that strip to the Whisper White piece.
Then I stamped the words from the "Bonanza Buddies" set using black Memento ink. You want to wait to stamp the words after you've added the DSP strip so you know where the words should go.
I taped the Whisper White piece to the Basic Black piece and I set it aside.
Then I fussy cut the bird from the same pack of DSP. SO cute. Yes, I did fussy cut but it's okay because he's SO darn cute it was worth it. And it really doesn't take that long, unless you are making a ton for a swap, then fussy cutting is totally out! I set the bird in place using Dimensionals and the card was done. Yup, as quick and simple as that. And not to mention stikin' cute!
It's not just a child's birthday card, it could be for those who love toucans.
Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda

I love this cute card, Wanda. I checked out the Z-fold one online and it is also cute. I like to have choices depending on the time I have to make a card. Enjoy your day!
