Feels Like Frost, To Every Season, Christmas Card

I wanted to find a card that used the "Feels Like Frost" 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP). I had bought two packs of it and have hardly used one.  That is the problem with these stacks, you get SO many sheets to play with that you can't use them all.  Why I bought two is a mystery to me.  Maybe I thought I was going to use it for our Christmas cards.  It kind of sounds familiar!!!  LOL  I found this card on the internet.  You can see the original card here.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a piece of the "Feels Like Frost" DSP that measures 3-3/4" x 5-1/2".  I taped it directly to the card base.

Next I die cut the silver foil snowflakes using the die from the "Christmas Layers" dies.  I placed a little tape on the DSP and stuck the snowflake piece there.

I had a 1" strip of the DSP scrap that I used for the front. I trimmed the length to 3-3/4" and I taped it in place over the foil snowflakes.

The words are from the "To Every Season" set and I stamped them using Night of Navy ink.  I die cut them using the "Stitched Nested Labels" die, it was the second smallest one in the set.  I added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on the DSP strip.

And for the final touch, I added some clear crystal rhinestones around the card and on the word piece and the card was done.

This is a very fun and quick card to make. If I were to make it a card I was going to send out, I would have used sequins so it would go through the mail better.  Though I have had good luck sending something like this through the mail by placing a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of box board on the top. I save my cereal boxes and cut them to fit.  I also use the cardboard that comes in the back of the DSP if it's not the super thick cardboard.  As long as it's not over 1/4" thick or over an ounce, one stamp is enough!

I think this is a very pretty card.  It's too bad there isn't more time before Christmas comes. I'd like to use more of the sets I bought.  Lesson learned, only buy a couple of holiday sets.  Let's see what the next spring catalog does to me!!! LOL

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda

This is a very pretty card. The DSP is so beautiful. I know why you bought two packs because it is so easy to make a nice card with minimal effort. Enjoy your day!
