Snowman Season, Snowman Card, Christmas Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Today was a busy day. I had the last of my craft fairs for the year!  It was a fun day.  Lots of shoppers out and great weather for it.  And now it's done. I will be boxing up what is left after taking inventory and then taking some time off to have fun and make some jewelry for my web store.  Do some baking and decorate for Christmas.  Plus reserving some time to just sit back and enjoy the holiday season!  Now if it all works out it will be GREAT!!!  LOL

Today's card is a simple one. I was inspired by a card I had made a while back using the sponging background strip technique.  I took two pieces of Post it Note tape and taped it to a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I took Pool Party ink and sponged it between the two pieces of tape.  If you don't have this tape, you can use post it notes lined up or you can affix your Whisper White piece to a scrap piece of paper and then tape some copier paper to the scrap piece so they don't move and then just sponge.  I would ink up my sponge dauber and I started at the top and worked my way down towards the bottom but never reaching the bottom. I wanted to keep that white.  Your sponging will be darker than it appears so keep that in mind while you are working up your strip.

Once I was done sponging, I stamped some Pool Party snowflakes from the "Snowman Season" stamp set.  I stamped all the way down until I came to the white spot.  I'm avoiding that spot completely.  I took some Dazzling Diamonds Washi tape that was in the "Let it Snow" embellishment kit and added it to each side of my sponged panel.

I stamped the "Let it Snow" from the "Snowman Season" set using Shaded Spruce ink.  I thought it would blend well with the Pool Party ink, and it did!  Then I die cut it using the "Stitched Circles" die.  I stamped some Pool Party snowflakes on, stamping off once before I stamped on the circle.  Again, I avoided the bottom part of the circle, keeping it white.

The cute little mittens are from the "Let it Snow" embellishment kit.  That kit is SO full of fun things to play with.  I glued the mittens in place.  I turned one mitten sideways because the are both left handed mittens.  So turning one sideways makes it so it doesn't look like two lefties!!  I tied a piece of white Baker's Twine into a bow and set it in place with a glue dot.

I added Dimensionals to the back of the circle and set it in place on the card.  Then I set the panel in place on the card base.  The card base is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I used Dimensionals to set the focal piece in place.  And that was it.  Sweet and simple, easy peasy!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
