Snowman Season, Christmas Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I found this fun card on Pinterest. I LOVE snowmen and this one was just too cute to pass up.  Plus I had almost everything to make it! You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Dazzling Diamonds card stock.  I didn't have the silver glitter paper that the original card has, but I thought the Dazzling Diamonds would work well.

The Pool Party layer was cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". I think it should be cut 3-3/4" x 5".  That way more of the glitter paper would show.  I textured this piece using the "Swirls and Curls" embossing folder.  I taped that piece to the glitter paper and then I ended up gluing it because the tape didn't want to stick very well to the glitter paper.  After gluing, I set it under my craft mat to keep it flat while the glue dried.  My craft mat is foam and has about 20 sheets of recycled copier paper on top of it.  The weight of all that held the piece down while it dried.

In the meantime, I die cut the largest "Stitched Circle" using Whisper White card stock.  I stamped the words from the "Snowman Season" set  using Shaded Spruce ink.  Then I stamped the snowflakes from the same set using Pool Party ink that was stamped off once.

I got out my cute "Let it Snow" embellishment kit and put two charcoal eyes on the circle.  Then the nose was added.  I picked out the Pool Party colored cap and just set it above the eyes so I could see where the arms were to go.  Once the arms were on, I set the cap in place using Dimensionals.  Then I added the snowballs using a little bit of glue.  They are felt but when I went to take them out of the baggie, they acted like they were foam, the static was horrible. I'm going to be cutting a small 1/2" x 1/2" square of new dryer sheet and slip it inside that baggie to get rid of that static.  I set this aside to dry.

Next I cut two 3/8" x 3-7/8" strips of glitter paper. I taped them to the front of the card about 1-1/4" from the bottom edge of the Pool Party card stock.  There is 1/8" space between the two strips.  Once they were taped down, I took the circle and set it in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.  Now those two strips on the original card were from the roll of Washi tape that came with the "Let it Snow" embellishment kit. My roll was buried under some pieces of card stock I put in the box and I didn't see it.  So instead of cutting the glitter paper, use the Washi tape that came in the kit.  I need to be more organized.  And I REALLY doubt that will happen any time soon!!! LOL

Isn't it cute?

I have over 60 snowman cards on my blog. Here's a quick link to just those cards.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
