I LOVE the "Feels Like Frost" 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP). And I LOVE the "Snowman Season" set but when putting the two of them together, I don't like what I see. To me it's like mixing reality with fantasy, that's about the best way I can describe it. It's like two mediums and they don't cross over well.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Seaside Spray card stock and taped it to the card base.
I cut a wintry scene from the "Feels Like Frost" DSP measuring 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" I taped that on top of the Seaside Spray piece.
I stamped the snowman from the "Snowman Season" using black Memento ink. I colored him in using the Seaside Spray ink pad and a blender pen. I didn't have any other way to color it in using that color. I only bought the ink pad. I also colored in the band of the hat with some Daffodil Delight. I colored the nose using Pumpkin Pie and the cheeks using Petal Pink markers. I took my sponge dauber and colored the tree with Mossy Meadow. I just pressed the dauber over the tree and twisted it a bit. And that was it for the coloring.
I die cut the snowman out using the Stitched Rectangle dies. Those are fun and there's LOTS of them in the package. I cut a layer 1/4" wider than the snowman piece. I taped the two layers together and then I set them in place using Dimensionals. And that was it.
It was SO much nicer in my head than it is finished. I like both the background and the snowman but I like them separately. Together it just doesn't seem to look right. But it is what it is and just because I don't like the two together doesn't mean anything. It's just me!
Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
