Today I'm going to share with you a little project my granddaughters worked on. They spent Thanksgiving night with us and helped us put up our Christmas tree on Friday. After we finished with that we went down to my workroom and made notebooks to give to their teachers for Christmas gifts.
One of the reasons I bought the "Harvest Hellos" set was because it had the apple and teacher wording. That to me made the stamp set versatile and I knew I could use it for that, for Halloween or fall and for Thanksgiving.
We just took some copier paper and cut it in half and then cut that in half so our papers measured 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". I took a piece of cardboard from one of my 12" x 12" paper packs and I cut it to that size too. I needed this for the back of the book, it gives it some stability. And for the front the girls picked out their colors. Granny Apple Green (because the teacher's favorite color is green) and Flirty Flamingo (because it's the granddaughter's favorite color). I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock for each of them for the covers of their books. I set up the apple image in my Stamparatus and they inked up the images and stamped them on the card stock. They colored them in using Blends pens. They also colored some pearls with the Blends pens too.
I have a Rubi Coil binding machine, so I just punched the holes in the paper and in the card stock and cardboard. The girls wound the coil through the holes and I finished the ends for them.
They wrote their teacher's names on the front. They stamped "Merry Christmas" in Real Red on the inside and added some snowflakes, both from the "Snowman Season" set. Sorry I didn't take a picture of the insides.
They were SO proud of their books, they couldn't wait to show their parents when they came to get them.
I think they did a great job coloring. The one who did the green is 6 and the one who did the pink is 4. The 4 year old was SO into the coloring, it was intense!!! LOL They both had fun and that's what's important!
