A Colorful Season, Beautiful Bouquet, Fall Masculine Birthday Card

Now here's a set I just had to have and hardly played with it.  I think it's because I tend to purchase too many sets and then don't get the time to spend on all of them that I had intended.  When the spring catalog comes out, I'm going to be more selective and see how that goes!!  Wish me luck!!  I really liked the leaves and snowflakes in this set. I forgot about the snowflakes and I'm going to have to try to work them into a Christmas card.  They are REALLY pretty.

This was a fun card to make. The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White that was textured using the "Layered Leaves" embossing folder. I taped that piece to the front of the card.

Next I die cut the leaves using Whisper White card stock and I also die cut the leaf veins using Soft Suede card stock.  And while I was at it, I die cut the scalloped oval from Soft Suede card stock.

The words are from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set. I stamped them on Whisper White card stock using Soft Suede ink.  I die cut them with an oval die.  I taped the words to the Soft Suede scalloped oval.  I added Dimensionals on the back and set it aside.

I took the Whisper White leaves and colored them using Crushed Curry with some Pumpkin Pie ink. I colored another one using Pumpkin Pie with some Cajun Craze ink and I colored the last one using Old Olive ink and a little bit of Cajun Craze on it.  When I say I colored them, I sponged the color on.

Next I poured some glue on a craft mat and rolled it on top of itself, not making a fold but just so I could get the glue smeared around and thinner.  I set the leaf vein on top and gently pressed it into the glue. I set the vein on top of a sponged leaf. I repeated this for the other two leaves.  I added Dimensionals to the back and set the leaves in place in the upper left corner.

Then I set the words in place.  I added a few sequins. I had some left over from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit. Some of the sequins I colored with Blends pens.  There's SO much you can do with those pens!!

And the card was done.  I noticed the words were crooked and I have fixed that on my card so it is straight now!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

  1. It's a beautiful card! I love the combination of colors to give that true Fall look.

Have you ever tried spray adhesive or the "Glue Sponge"? Both work really well for pieces like the leaf veins. I really like both.
