Boo to You, Halloween Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog, Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to you!

I have loved this layout since the first time I saw it several years back.  I think it's a fun and super easy one to work with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Pumpkin Pie card stock.  On top of that is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic Black card stock.  And on top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4"piece of Whisper White card stock.  

Then I cut the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Monster Bash" 12" x 12" pack.  It measures 4  x 5-1/4". I cut a 1-3/4" slit in the center of the 5-1/4" side.  I took my stylus and a rule and lined up the end of the slit to the tip of the corner. I repeated this for the other corner.  Then I folded the corners back and taped the tips down.  Then I taped the DSP to the Whisper White piece.  

I stamped the cute wolf from the "Boo to You" set using black Memento ink.  I colored him in using the Blends pens. I used both light and dark for the fur, the jacket, the face and the pants.  I used Soft Suedes for the fur. Highland Heathers for the jacket. Pumpkin Pies for the pants and Petal Pinks for the face.  

I cut him out using the oval Stitched die.  Then I die cut a scalloped oval for the layer.  I taped the two ovals together and set them in place on the card using Dimensionals.  But before I set him in place I set him on the card front so I know where the words would go.  The words are from the same set and I used black Memento ink to stamp them.  Then I set the ovals in place and that was it.

This was a fun and super easy card to make.  Now I'm off to get the rest of the things I need to get done before the trick or treaters start coming.  I think there should be a set time for this.  Something like 5:30 to 8:30.  No one needs to be out before then.  And with daylight savings, it's still light at 5:30.  It used to be changed in late October and now it's moved to November.  I wish they would just remove it completely.

Boo to You, Monster Bash DSP, Halloween Treat Holder, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Today I wanted to play with the "Boo to You" set since Halloween is only a day away and I'll be putting this set up for a while.  It will probably be retired because that's what happens to most of the sets in the Holiday Catalogs. 

I like making these simple candy holders.  They are not only quick to make but cute too.

The sleeve measures 5-1/2" x 5-1/2".  I scored the piece at 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 3-3/4" and 4".  I burnished the fold lines so they were nice and crisp before I wrapped it around the candy bar.  This is a full size Hershey's candy bar (the 1.55 oz size).  I glued one side on top of the other side.

I cut a Basic Black piece of card stock measuring 5-3/8" x 2-1/8".  The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Monster Bash" 12" x 12" paper pack.  I cut it to 5-1/4" x 2" and I taped it to the Basic Black piece.  Then I taped those layers to the front of the candy bar sleeve.

I stamped the monster from the "Boo to You" set using black Memento ink.  I colored him using both dark and light Highland Heather Blends Pens. I used the dark Daffodil Delight for the teeth, toenails and spots on the horns.  I colored the horns and eyes in using the light Granny Apple Green pen.  I die cut him out using the "Stitched Circles" die.  Then I die cut a scalloped circle using Basic Black card stock.  I taped those two circles together and I set the circles in place using Dimensionals. Be careful not to get the Dimensionals too close to the edges or they will stick out on the back side and stuff can get stuck to them and make the circle look awful.  Keep it clean.  You might want to just eye where the circle will go and add the Dimensionals to the wrapper front, that way you avoid any issues at all.

These are very fun and quick to make.  I think it's adorable!

Winter Woods, Itty Bitty Greetings, Sympathy Cards

I was still on the lookout for a different sympathy card.  One that didn't have flowers on it.  I found this fun layout and I thought I would give that card a try. You can see the card I found here.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Gray card stock.  On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White that was textured using the "Birch" embossing folder.  I embossed it first and then I cut it. Sometimes when I've embossed paper it got smaller so I learned to cut after embossing.  I taped the embossed piece to the Basic Gray piece and then I taped those two to the card base.

The trees are from the "Winter Woods" set. I stamped them using Basic Gray ink. I die cut the second largest "Stitched Circle" and I also die cut a scalloped circle just a little bit bigger than the stitched one.  If I had been thinking I would have cut the scalloped one from the piece that I taped to the card base.  But once again my mind was elsewhere.  I taped the circles together and I set them in place on the card using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" and I stamped them using Basic Gray ink.  I punched them out using the "Classic Label" punch. I set the words in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

I think it's a sweet card.  It kind of has a somber look to it.

Boo to You, Halloween Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I thought I would play with the "Boo to You" Halloween set today. There's only a few days till Halloween and after that all I can do with the set is make Monster Spray spray can covers.  

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Gray card stock.  This card is folded at the top and opens at the bottom.  On top of the base is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock.  And on top of the black card stock is a 5" x 2" piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Monster Bash" 12" x 12" paper pack.  And on the bottom is a 5" x 2" piece of Granny Apple Green card stock that was textured using the "Hammered" embossing folder.  Such a fun looking folder.  I think it could pass for alligator skin too! I taped the DSP and green card stock in place and then I added the ribbon. I taped the ends around the backside and I secured them with some scotch tape.  Then I took a small piece of ribbon and slipped it under the long ribbon and I tied a bow. I trimmed the ends and the bow was done.  This type of bow is nice because you can slide it across your strip of ribbon and make sure you get it exactly where you want it.

I stamped the zombie and colored him in using Blends Pens.  I used the light and dark Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather, Smoky Slate and just the light Daffodil Delight and Balmy Blue pens.

I die cut the zombie image using the "Stitched Square" die. I die cut a Basic Black scalloped square and I taped the two together.  Then I set it in place on the card front using Dimensionals.  Then I stamped the words from the "Boo to You" set using black Memento ink.  I die cut them with a small circle die and I also die cut a small Basic Black scalloped circle for the layer. I taped the layers together and I set them in place using Dimensionals.

I like the card but I think the Zombie could use some Googly eyes.  I may add them later.  This was a very fun card to make.

Daisy Delight, Colorful Seasons, Masculine Sympathy Card

Today I needed to make a sympathy card.  My uncle passed away.  I don't need it until next week but I thought I would make it now so I was ready. Most of the sympathy cards I've made have been flowery. I don't make that many masculine cards or masculine sympathy card.  I found this card on Pinterest that I thought was good.  It's got flowers but it's fall colors and the fall leaves.  I may think of a different card before then but for now, this is the one I'm going to use.  I found this card here.  I did make a few little changes.  

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Soft Suede.  And the focal piece is Whisper White and measures 3-3/4" x 5".  I stamped the little dots on it from the Daisy Delight set  using Soft Sued ink that I stamped off once.  After doing that I textured it using the "Pinewood Planks" embossing folder.  I taped that piece on top of the Soft Suede.

I die cut some gold foil leaves, two large and one small.  Then I stamped two large leaves on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I used Early Espresso ink to do that.  Then I colored them using my Blends Pen. I started off with the light Pumpkin Pie pen in the middle. I kind of drew the shape of the leaf.  Then I took the dark Pumpkin Pie pen and colored around that.  I used the light Cajun Craze to color around/above the Pumpkin Pie and then I went around the edges using the dark Cajun Craze marker.  As I was coloring the leaves in I drew a small leaf on the card stock and added each color as I went.  This was for the smaller leaf that didn't have a vein stamp to go with it.  Next I die cut the leaves.  As I was die cutting them, I also die cut the gold glitter paper circles.  That die is in the "Colorful Seasons" bundle.  I needed three of them.

I set the leaves aside and stamped the flowers.  I used Soft Suede and Early Espresso to cut two stamp two of each color using the "Daisy Delight" set. I stamped them on So Saffron card stock. I should have stamped off on the Soft Suede, it pretty much looks like the Early Espresso. In real life I can see a little difference but it's VERY close.  I punched the daisies out and taped the centers together putting the Early Espresso one on the bottom and the Soft Suede one on the top.  I added a Dimensional behind each one.  

I needed a 1" x 3-3/4" strip of So Saffron but I didn't want to cut a full sheet of card stock up (I didn't have any scrap) but I remembered there was some space left on the piece I had punched the daisies from so I used that.  It's in two pieces but no one will ever know, the flowers and leaves hide the seam.  I ran those pieces through the Big Shot using the "Layered Leaves" embossing folder.  The original card using the knitted looking one, but that one is retired and I like the look of the leaves better, it seemed to fit more with the flowers and the other leaves.  Though the knitted look and the cooler weather are a theme on their own!  

Now it was time to assemble. I added the strips first.  Then I set the daisies in place.  I glued and tucked the leaves in where I thought they looked the best.  I used the "Faceted Gems" for the center of the flowers. I did color them using the Bronze Blends Pen. I glued the gold glitter dots in place and I added three gold sequins that I colored using my dark Pumpkin Pie Blends Pen.

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set. I stamped them using Early Espresso ink and I used the "Classic Label" punch to punch them out.  I set them in place using small Dimensionals.  And the card was done.

I like the card, just not the reason I had to make it.

Beautiful Friendship, Birthday Card

Today I needed to make birthday cards.  It's my sister-in-law's birthdays coming up.  They are twins, so I usually make them both the same card.  That makes it easier on me!!!  Since hubby will be seeing them tomorrow, I had to put a rush on the cards!  And this is what I came up with. I found this card on the net. You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock and the focal piece is cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".

I set the images up on my Stamparatus because I was making two cards.

The large flower image was stamped using Pumpkin Pie ink.  Than I stamped the smaller flower on the bottom using Pumpkin Pie ink too.

The leaves were added using Old Olive ink.  I wanted to try to stick with the warmer colors because of the time of year.  

The original card has the words added on the bottom right corner but I put them up at the top where there was so much empty space.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I think it took me longer to get it set up and posted on here than it did to make the two cards!!

Boo to You, Monster Spray, Weekend

Today I was looking at my "Boo to You" set and thought I should use it because of it being mostly a Halloween set. And then I remembered, I didn't need to use it just at Halloween, it could be used to make "Monster Spray" labels.  Many years ago I had made "Monster Spray" using the Halloween set available at the time.  That was back in 2006.  WOW, that was a long time ago.  I still like the look of that label and now I have a new label and a new look that I also like. You can see my first "Monster Spray" cans here. I posted several in a row because I was making them for a craft fair.  Oh and they did sell well! 

I have a tip here before you assemble. Make sure you leave some extra card stock on the sides so you have a little bit of an overlap for the glue to stick or you may end up having to use Scotch tape and your can won't have as nice a look as you would have hoped it would.

To make my label, I printed out the words on my computer. I had found the font "Dripping Blood" and thought it would look fun.  After printing, I set the card stock over the air freshener to get my measurements. I first trimmed off on the bottom.  Then I measured around my can and cut each side pretty close to evenly.  And then I stamped my images. I used the cute critters from the "Boo to You" set.  It's TOO darn cute.  I colored them in using Blends Pens.  After coloring I took the card stock and ran it over the corner of my worktable, with my left hand on top and my right hand pulling it so it would have some curl.  Then I rolled it up to give it a bit more curl.  It's really difficult to get a straight piece of card stock to stay on a round spray can.  I affixed the label to the can by first running some snail tape down the center of the card stock. Then I lined up the top edge of the spray can and slowly worked the piece around the can to make sure it was straight.  I then glued one end on top of the other end.  I added some rubber bands around the can to help hold the ends down until the glue set up a bit.  You can use your bone folder to burnish that edge and help the glue adhere better.  Once the glue was set I removed the rubber bands and it was done.

Monster Spray

Every night

when I’m asleep

Into my room

the monsters creep

I call to Mom,

“Please come and stay!

And don’t forget

the monster spray!”

She comes right in

and sprays right here.

Then all the monsters

disappear!

Have fun making these!!  Hopefully there will be a fun set next year so I don't end up waiting another 13 years to make a new label.  Actually, the set last year was cute but the thought of using it for Monster Spray didn't even enter my head.

Snowman Season, Let it Snow, Christmas or Holiday Gift Card Holder, Weekend Project

Yesterday I had made the gift card that I don't usually make because I don't often use note card sized cards.  So today I was thinking about that gift card and wondering how I could convert it into a regular size greeting card (one that fits the A2 envelopes) and this is what I came up with.

What I did was I took a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock and I centered the little gift card on it.  Then I traced a line along the spine/fold of the gift card onto the front of the folded card. I added 1/16" on each end so the little gift card could slip in and out. I used my craft knife and cut a slit in the card front along that pencil line.

Next I cut a piece of Real Red card stock measuring 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" and textured it using the retired knitted image. I didn't realize it was retired or I would have used something current.  But you can use what you have, you get the idea here.  I cut that piece to 5-1/2" x 3-1/2".  I cut a strip from the "Let it Snow" Designer Series Paper (DSP) to 5-1/2" x 3/4". I taped both pieces to the front of the card.  

On the inside I taped a 5-1/2" x 4-1/2" piece of the DSP. I could have used Whisper White card stock or a different color card stock too.  I taped all around the edges.  I debated whether or not to add tape to the back of the note card so it would always be stuck to the card but then I decided I would just make it so the gift card could slide in and out.  It's like two cards in one.  So I only taped around the edges of the DSP on the inside. 

I slipped the note card in and took this photo.  Fun, huh?  And now I 100% love this card, this gift card.  And I know who is going to receive it too.

Snowman Season, Let it Snow, Christmas or Holiday Gift Card Holder, Weekend Project

Last month at Terri's Stamping Extravaganza, I saw this cute gift card holder that I REALLY wanted to make.  I have not had much time to play with the fun pictures I took at that event.  If you live near Medina, MN this is a fun and free event to go to. You get to see all of the new items in the catalogs.  September was the Holiday Extravaganza.  I believe the next one will be in January for the Sale-a-Bration and spring catalog event.   

This was a very easy and fun gift card to make. I don't usually make the smaller gift cards because I don't use them as much as I would a full-sized card. But this was just too cute not to make. The Whisper White base was cut 6" x 4".  I cut the Real Red piece 3-3/4" x 2-3/4".  And I cut the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Let it Snow" 12" x 12" specialty paper pack.  It's a specialty paper because there's some embossed images in it that can be punched out with the matching punch.  It's a fun and cute set and it isn't as expensive as some of those that have die cuts with them.  

I stamped the words using Real Red ink and I die 

cut them using the "Nesting Circles" dies.

I tied a Baker's Twine bow and set it in place using a tiny glue dot.  And I used glue dots to hold the mittens in place.  The mittens are from the "Let it Snow" embellishment kit.  This kit has so many fun elements in it.  There's the mittens, both right and left hand (smart), there's caps, scarves, glittery Washi tape, felt snowballs (they look like styrofoam but they are really felt) and a sheet of snowman noses, arms, coal eyes and coal buttons.  It's SO cute and SO fun!

Snow Front, Christmas Card, October 2019 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card

I received my October Paper Pumpkin kit last week and I thought I would play with it today. I did like it just as it was but I REALLY wanted to play with the "Snow Front" set too.  I just wanted the best of both worlds here!!  And this is what I came up with.

I used the card from the October Paper Pumpkin kit and I stamped the snowflakes on the back. I did make a mask to cover the trees so I didn't get any ink on them.  But I don't think it would have mattered.  I stamped those snowflakes using Night of Navy ink.

Then I stamped the house and trees with Night of Navy ink.  I stamped the shadow under the house and the snowman using Smoky Slate ink.  I took my Light Seaside Spray Blends Pen and colored in the snowman and the house.  I also stamped the mountain image using Smoky Slate ink. And again, I don't think a mask would have mattered.

I stamped the words from the Paper Pumpkin set using Night of Navy ink.

And for the pretty tree.... I added some of the new "Snowfall Accents" puff paint and I sprinkled it with "Ice Stampin' Glitter".  I heated it from the backside so the glitter wouldn't blow away. Once it started to puff then I finished heating it from the front. It's fun to watch the stuff puff.  

I said it didn't really matter if you got snowflakes on the trees because the puff paint with the glitter would hide it.  

I thought this was a fun card to make and now I want to play with the "Snow Front" set without the Paper Pumpkin card.

Frosted Foliage, Frosted Frames, Feels Like Frost, Christmas Card, Shaker Card

I found a really pretty card on Pinterest that I wanted to make.  Not only because it was pretty, but because of all the paper in the "Feels Like Frost" 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack, this was my least favorite.  When I saw how pretty this card was on this paper, I grew a little fonder of that image.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Seaside Spray. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of the DSP that was taped in place.  Use your tape runner slowly, the silver doesn't like to pick up the tape and sometimes it will cause you to rip the paper.  Just go slow.

Now here's what I should have done first and I will continue the step by step as if I had done it this way.  I should have die cut the frame from the "Frosted Frames" die cuts.  I used the Dazzling Diamonds paper for this piece. I also cut a Whisper White piece to tape together for better stability. Plus I wasn't sure how well the Window Sheet would stick to the back of the glitter paper.  Once I got the two pieces glued together I cut a 2-3/4" x 3" piece of Window Sheet.  I glued the Window Sheet to the back of the frame piece.  I set it aside to dry.

I took the center piece from the framed piece and I centered it on the front of the card.  I traced around about 1/8" larger than the frame.  Draw lightly.  

The words are from the "Frosted Foliage" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. The original card used black Staz-on right on the Window Sheet. I don't like stamping like that because I have a tendency to make the ink smear. Though the Stmaparatus might be of some help there but They way I did it worked just fine and I didn't have to wait for the ink to dry because Memento ink dries a lot faster than Staz-on. 

After stamping the words, I used the foam strips and made my frame around the pencil lines I drew. I lined the strips right on the pencil lines. 

I removed the protective pieces on the strips and exposed the tape.  I added some of the "Snowflake" sequins and some "Ice Stapin' Glitter" to the paper and I carefully lined up the frame on the foam tape.  And that was it. I did give it a shake before I took the photo.  

I have a little tip to share with you here when it comes to the static on your sequins.  I had used a 1/4" x 1/4" piece of drier sheet but I didn't like it being in my sequins so, when I opened up my new container, I took my Embossing Buddy and I gave it a tap on the inside of the lid and I closed the container and I shook it.  Viola, my sequins were staying where they belong!!

This was a fun card and I now REALLY like this paper that I was not fond of.

Monster Bash, Wicked, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog

I saw this layout on a card on Pinterest and I thought I would use it on a Halloween card.  I have LOTS of the "Monster Bash" Designer Series Paper (DSP) left and I thought I would and should use some of it. I think I have lots of paper from previous years too!  I never seem to use them up.  Any suggestions for storing them?  I don't use them for scrapbooking so I don't need or want them to be 12" x 12".   

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Very Vanilla card stock.

I took a 5-1/2" x 3" piece of the DSP from the "Monster Bash" pack.  I measured 1" in on the top left and 1" in on the bottom right and made light pencil dots on it.  I taped it to a 5-1/2" x 3" piece of Very Vanilla card stock and then I cut the paper at a diagonal, matching those pencil lines on the paper cutter.

On the backside of the monster DSP was the spider web image, so I cut a piece of that at 5-1/2" x 2-1/2".  I taped it to the card front, being sure to center it.

I added Dimensionals to the back of the diagonal cut pieces and I set them in place on top of the webbed DSP.  

I die cut the spider and the word "Wicked" from the "Wicked" dies.  I set both of them in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.  Be sure to set the words on the card first to see where NOT to add the Dimensionals. They are not all that easy to remove once the words are set in place.  Speaking from experience here. 

I think it's a pretty cute card. I LOVE those characters on the DSP.

Feels Like Frost, Frosted Foliage, Christmas Card

I found this card on Pinterest. I clicked on the photo to see if I could get any info but after going through many weeks of posts, I had no luck and gave up.  I wish people would post on the exact page so you get a direct link.  UGH.  I only give these a few minutes of my time in searching and then I just give up.  If anyone finds it, please let me know and I'll add the direct link here.  But for now you can see the original image I found here.  You may not need to see it, it's exactly as I found it except I'm giving you a direct link and instructions. 

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that I had used the stitched rectangle dies and die cut the tree from one of the 6" x 6" "Feels Like Frost" Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Now why I wanted to find the original post was because the rectangle dies are not this long.  I had never extended a die cut and I had to guess on what to do.  SO, here is how I did it.  I used some post it note tape and I taped the bottom and one side down so the DSP wouldn't move.  Then I set the piece in my Big Shot.  I slipped a piece of box board (cereal box thickness) between the DSP and the die cut.  I didn't want the die cut to cut the whole rectangle out.  It would be too short.  Once I cranked the handle until I could feel the rollers come up to the cardboard, I stopped.  I removed the tape and determined how long I wanted the strip (I just went by the look of the original card image) and I lined up the die cut where I wanted the next end to be cut and I also lined up the stitch marks so it would be a smooth looking stitch and no one would ever see that it was done in two sections.  My new rectangle piece now measured 5" x 11/16".  I cut a piece of Night of Navy 1/8" wider all around, measuring 5-1/8" x 13/16".  I taped the DSP to the Night of Navy strip and I set it aside while I stamped the words.

The words are from the "Frosted Foliage" set. I stamped them using Night of Navy ink.  I had set up the stamp in my Stamparatus and stamped the words.  I like using it because I can re-ink the image and stamp again if it's not how I'd like it to be.  It wasn't.  My ink pad must be in need of being re-inked and it stamped a little light.  So I inked the words up again and stamped them one more time.  It stamps in the exact same place and now darker.  I was pleased with how it looks.  This is also great if you are making more than one card, like your yearly Christmas cards or cards for a swap.

I set the panel in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.  I'm thinking about doing this for our yearly Christmas cards.  This pack of paper has 48 sheets.  You can get three of these strips per sheet.  More than enough to make our cards. Hmmm.  BIG possibility.

I want to try this layout using some other DSP from the main catalog.  It's easy enough, pretty enough and quick enough!!!

Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper, Christmas or Winter Card, Sympathy Card

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card is folded on the left and it opens on the right.  On top of the card base is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of  Night of Navy card stock.  And on top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Feels Like Frost" 6" x 6" pack.  There's SO many images in this pack and on the back side of the images you will find white and silver designs.  All different on too.  There's 48 pieces in the pack. I thin I might use this paper to make our Christmas card this year. I usually make a snowman card but I might change it up this year.  This piece of DSP was textured using the "Subtle" embossing folder.  I did have a little bit of trouble getting my tape on the back because of the texture and the silver.  

I took another piece of the DSP that has the pretty giant dandelion looking images on it.  I cut it to 2" x 4-1/4".  I cut a 4-3/8" x 2-1/8" piece of Night of Navy for the back layer.

I tied bows around it using the "Polka Dot Tulle" ribbon and the SO pretty "Seaside Spray Metallic" ribbon.  I tied them in a knot. I did add a couple of small glue dots on the back to hold the ribbons in place.  Not that the added Dimensionals wouldn't have done it (DUH!).

I set the panel in place on top of the textured piece using Dimensionals.  And that was it.  Words could be added. I would do them before the texturing or do them separately.  But as is, this card can be used as a Christmas card, a thinking of you and even a sympathy card.  It's got that somber look to it.  It's a very quick and easy card to make.  I needed that tonight, I'm running behind.

Dandelion Wishes, Magnolia Lane Designer Paper, Get Well Card

Today I was in need of a get well card.  I know, I have some in my stash, but I like to make a new one when I need them.  A bit silly but that's how I roll.  Plus I do sometimes use the cards in my stash, really!!! I didn't see how to make a get well card using the new stuff from the 2019 Holiday Catalog, so I went back to the new stuff from the 2019-202 Catalog.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Petal Pink card stock.

I cut a 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Magnolia Lane 12" x 12" paper pack.  I layered it on top of a 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I taped the layers to the front of the card.

Then I cut a 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" piece of DSP from the same pack.  This piece has some pretty flowers on it.  I layered it using Whisper White card stock that measures 2-1/2" x 3".  I taped those two layers together and then I taped them the front of the card.

I stamped the words from the "Dandelion  Wishes" set on a piece of Whisper White card stock and die cut them with 1-7/8" circle die. I die cut a Powder Pink circle that measures about 2-1/8".  I taped the two circles together and then I taped them on top of a "Pearlized Doily".  I set the doily piece in place using Dimenisonals.

And for a final touch, I added three tiny pearls to the flowery image piece.  I had them sitting in my little tote that I keep the pearls in.  They were stuck to the lid (somehow), so I thought I would just use them to get rid of them before they got lost.

This was a fun card to make and I thin it's a great get well card. I'm sure my friend will like it.

Boo to You, Monster Bash, Everything Festive, Halloween Card 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I have been having a LOT of fun with the "Boo to You" set. I love these kid friendly monsters.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  On top of that are two pieces of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Monster Bash" 12" x 12" pack. I cut them 5-1/4" x 2-1/4" each.  I could have gotten by with cutting them at 2-1/8" but I wasn't sure where I was going with the dividing of the center line.  I taped those two pieces in place using snail tape.

Next I added a 1/4" x 5-1/4" strip of Basic Black card stock.  You can use ribbon but I had the card stock sitting by my cutter so I went with it.  I glued that strip in place.

I used my 1-1/4" square punch and punched out 3 characters from the "Monster Bash" DSP.  I taped them to  1-3/8" Basic Black squares.  I taped those squares in place on the bottom part of the card.

I stamped the monster from the "Boo to You" set.  I colored him in using Blends Pens. I used both light and dark Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather, Smoky Slate and light only on the Balmy Blue and Daffodil Delight.  I die cut him with the largest stitched oval and I die cut a Basic Black scalloped oval.  I taped the two layers together and I set him in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Everything Festive" set. I will be using that set more on my Christmas cards.  There's LOTS of fun words in that set and for other holidays.  I colored in the spider web using the light Smoky Slate Blends Pen.  I die cut it with an oval die and I also die cut a Basic Black scalloped oval for the back layer. I taped the two together and set them in place on the card using Dimensionals on the left side and snail tape on the right.  And that was it. 

I thought it was a very fun and simple card to make.  I LOVE those characters at the bottom but you can't see them very well.

Snowman Season, Itty Bitty Christmas, Feels Like Frost, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Today I wanted to make a shaker card. I have not made one in a long time and now I remember why.  I find them a little time consuming, though I did start with the shaker so by the time I was ready for it, the glue was dry and I could move forward.  

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Gray card stock.  Not a color I would normally use for a Christmas card, but it just worked here.  This card is folded on the left and opens on the right.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Feels Like Frost" 6" x 6" paper pack. I cut it 2-7/8" x 3" x 4-1/8".  The Seaside Spray piece behind it is cut 3" x 4-1/8".  The Whisper White piece was cut 3-1/2" x 4-5/8".  

I taped the Whisper White piece to the card base.  I taped the Seaside Spray and DSP together.  I wished I had just let the image on the DSP show instead of stamping a piece of Whisper White card stock with Seaside Spray snowflakes from the "Snowman Season" set.  I think that would have looked better.

I cut the circle for the shaker card using Basic Gray card stock.  The stuff on the inside are sequins from the "Snowflake Sequins" container.  And I added a couple of pinches of the "Ice Stampin' Glitter".  I put the shaker card together with the foam strips.  And I taped the piece in place on top of the card.  Then I set the DSP layered piece in place on top of the Whisper White card stock using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Christmas" set.  The words are "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  I masked off the other words, inked up the "Merry Christmas", removed the mask and stamped them on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I punched them out using the "Classic Label" punch.  I set the punched piece in place using Dimenisonals. 

It was kind of fun but shaker cards are not my favorite to make.

Boo to You, Halloween Candy Gift Bag, Weekend Project, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I have not done a "Weekend Project" in a while.  There's around 250 or so of them on my blog.  Click here for the direct link to them. You can always convert most of them over to the current stamp sets.

I did the words on my computer. I Googled "Spiderweb words" and I found these at DaFont.  I thought it fit with the words I needed to type so I downloaded it. It was free!  I printed out the words on Pumpkin Pie card stock.  

I cut my piece of card stock 3-1/8" x 5".  I folded it in half so it measured 3-1/8" x 2-1/2".  

I filled a 3" x 4" plastic zip baggie with Hershey Kissed and some plastic spiders.  Most of the spiders ended up on the back of the bag.  UGH!!  I didn't notice it until I was all done.  UGH!  After filling the bag, I zipped it shut and stapled the header to it.  I usually staple so the bumps of the staple are on the front and the smooth flat part is on the back.  It doesn't always work out that I can do it that way but today's header was perfect for it.

I stamped the zombie from the "Boo to You" set using black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock. I colored him in using the following Blends Pens: Highland Heather, light and dark, Granny Apple Green, light and dark.  Smoky Slate, light and dark and light Balmy Blue.  I fussy cut him out and set him in place on the header using Dimensionals.  I made sure that the staple was covered by his legs/pants. I gave him a couple of colored googly eyes from the "Assorted Googly Eyes" pack.

I punched out two Basic Black bats using the "Every Season" punch pack.  I set the bats in place with pieces of Dimensionals.  And the treat bag was done.  I think it's cut and will be fun to give out.

Frosted Frames, Itty Bitty Christmas, Feels Like Frost, Christmas Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Today I wanted to play with the "Feels Like Frost" 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack.  I got two packs because I thought they were SO beautiful.  And the sad thing is, I have hardly played with it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Gorgeous Grape card stock.  This card is folded on the left and opens on the right.  I cut my DSP 3" x 5-1/4".  I taped this piece to the front of the card.  I didn't set the tape all the way to the edge because I needed room to slip in some die cut pieces.

I die cut some Dazzling Diamonds paper images using the "Frosted Frames" dies.  I just randomly set them in place on the left side of the card.  Some I tucked under the DSP and some I taped right to the top.

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Christmas" set. I stamped them using Gorgeous Grape ink.  I cut them using the Stitched Squares dies.  I set the words in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.  

Using this pretty DSP you not only get a beautiful card but you get a super quick and easy card to make!

Snowman Season, Christmas Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I am having a lot of fun playing with the "Snowman Season" set.  I am in search of this year's annual Christmas card. This one seems easy enough and something I can make pretty quick too.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Real Red card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White.  And the "Buffalo Plaid"stamped piece was made on  a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece Whisper White card stock and Real Red ink.  This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 1-5/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Whisper White card stock and a 1-3/4" x 3-7/8" piece of  Real Red card stock for the back layer.  

I stamped the snowman from the "Snowman Season" set using black Memento ink.  I colored him in using the Real Red marker. I colored his nose in using the Pumpkin Pie marker and I added some Powder Pink on the cheeks.  I would have used my Blends Pens but the markers were sitting right next to me.  I die cut the snowman using the 1-7/8" circle die and I die cut a 2-1/8" Real Red circle and I taped the two together.  

I set the circle on top of the Whisper White strip so I could see where to stamp the "Let it Snow" words from the "Snowman Season" set.  I used Real Red ink to stamp them.  I taped the strips together and then I taped them to the card front.

I set the circle layers in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.   See, I told you it was easy and quick!

September 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit, Halloween Card

I found today's card while surfing the net.  The original was made by Dawn Griffith.  You can see the original card here.  I did change it a little bit.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Pumpkin Pie card stock.  On top of that is a piece of Basic Black card stock that measured 3-1/2" x 5-1/2".  

I cut up two of the treat boxes that came in the set. I used my paper cutter and I cut them along the fold lines but just inside so I wouldn't get the crease on my edges.  I cut off the flaps and I did toss them because I still have plenty of other pieces to work with on future cards.  After cutting the boxes, I cut the strips into 2" x 3-1/4" pieces.  After cutting the first one off the strip, I turned the strip and cut the second one. I didn't want the piece to have two seams/folds on it.  I was making two cards here. If you are just making one, then only cut one from the strip.  I cut the pieces from both the striped piece and the polka dot piece.  The layer behind them is a piece of Pumpkin Pie cut 2-1/4" x 3-1/2".  You will need two of these.

I cut a 3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock for the strip.

I die cut a 1-7/8" circle using Pumpkin Pie card stock. I also die cut a scalloped circle a bit larger using some silver foil card stock.  And that was it for the cutting.

To assemble, I taped the Basic Black piece to the folded half-sheet of Pumpkin Pie card stock.  This card opens on the right and is folded on the left.  Next I taped the layer behind the striped and polka dot pieces. I taped the striped layers on the card first. I didn't cut mine the same size as the original card so I ended up moving the piece all the way to the right side so some black could show on the left side.  You can always trim that piece to 3/8" shorter on both the striped piece and the Pumpkin Pie layer.  Or you can do what I did and left it (only because I had already taped the layers together).  Then I taped the polka dot layers on top of the striped layers.  

I taped the black strip in place.

Then I taped the Pumpkin Pie circle to the silver foil circle. I added a glue dot to the center of the spider web that comes in the kit and I set it in place on the Pumpkin Pie piece.  I added a glue dot to the center of the vellum circle that comes with the kit, and I set it in place on top of the spiderweb.  I added some small glue dots to the skeleton and set him in place on top of the vellum.  The circle was then set in place on the card using Dimensionals.

The words are from the kit and I stamped them with the Gorgeous Grape ink that came with the kit.  The piece the words were stamped on also came with the kit.  This kit has LOTS of pieces in it.  I set the words in place using small Dimensionals.  Oh and the kit does come with small black Dimensionals.  Yay!  Dimensionals in colors!  Well, black and white but it's a start!

And lastly I used some resin dots that I had. I colored them using a black Sharpie marker. I set them in place on the strip and the card was done. 

This was a very fun card to make and I was able to use some of the boxes in the kit.  I didn't have a need for those boxes so it was GREAT to find a card that used them.

Christmas Layers, Snowman Season, Christmas Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Today I thought I would try something a little different.  I wanted to play with my misting bottles.  

I filled up a mister bottle about 3/4 the way with rubbing alcohol. I always use the 91% type.  I don't know why, I just do and it's never failed me yet.  I added 6 drops of Balmy Blue ink and after putting the cover back on, I shook it up.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock and I set the piece I die cut from the "Christmas Layers" die set.  I did add just the smallest amount of snail tape to some ares to get them to stick nicely.

Then I sprayed the entire paper using the spray bottle.  I tried to get the paper covered as evenly as possible.  

I stamped the words from the "Snowman Season" set using black Memento ink.  

I added some of the small round silver sequins from the "Snowflake Sequins" container.  There's some fun winter shapes in there and SO great for winter shaker cards.  I may have to make one to see how pretty this stuff really in one.

I set the stamped piece in place using Dimenisonals.  And the card was finished.  Now as for that snowflake bunch that I die cut from the "Christmas Layers" set, I saved it and may use it on a card.  Maybe a revers card of today's post!

Monster Bash, Boo to You, To Every Season, Halloween Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Yup, I created this card all on my own!  Shocker, huh?  LOL  Sometimes I can leave Pinterest and figure out a card on my own.  Sometimes!!!

To make this card you need a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  This card is folded on the left and opens on the right.

On top of the card base I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather. And on top of the Highland Heather I taped a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Monster Bash" 12" x 12" paper pack.  

I used one of the dies from the "Frosted Frames" pack.  I die cut it in Basic Black card stock and I trimmed off the snowflakes.  We do NOT want snow here on Halloween.  We did have a blizzard on Halloween in 1991. Some trick or treaters living nearby braved the night.  I don't recall if our son went out or not.  We probably just promised him all the candy that was left!!  Okay, back to the frame.  I took the other die that came in the set that cut out the inside piece.  I took that inside piece and cut a piece of Whisper White that was just a hair bigger so it could be taped to the back of the frame.  

I set the Whisper White piece in my Stamparatus and I stamped the words from the "To Every Season" set.  Aren't they fun looking words?  I stamped them higher on the piece because I wanted to have room to put part of the monster on it.  I taped the Whisper White piece to the back of the frame and I set the frame in place using Dimensionals.

I stamped the monster from the "Boo to You" set. I colored him in using my Blends Pens. I used the light and dark Highland Heather for the body. I used Daffodil Delight for the toenails, teeth and dots in the horns. I used the light Granny Apple Green pen for the horns and the eyes.  And that's it, just three colors.  Cute, isn't he?  I set him in place on the card with Dimensionals on the bottom and snail tape on the upper part.  I gave him some green googly eyes from the "Assorted Googly Eyes" pack.  

I used the small bat punch from the "Every Season Punch Pack".  I punched five of them from the scrap Basic Black that was left from making the frame.  I set the bats in place using pieces of Dimensionals.  I think the card could use some bling and I may color some rhinestones using the dark Highland Heather Blends Pen and set them around on the Whisper White piece.

This was such a fun and quick card to make. I LOVE this little monster and it's SO kid friendly.

Monster Bash, Detailed Bands, To Every Season, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I'm not sure how many Halloween cards I'm going to be making. I don't have much of a use for a bunch of them. I will make a few more and then move onto something else.  This card I had found on the internet.  You can see the original card here.  I did change it a little.  

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. I cut the card stock in half on the 8-1/2" side.  This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.  I added a 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White piece to the inside. I did that right away so I wouldn't forget.  It should really be a Very Vanilla piece.  But it's on there now and I'm not removing it.

I cut a 4" x 4" piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Monster Bash" 12" x 12" paper pack.  I taped that piece to the upper part of the card base.

I took a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock and textured it using the "Stylish Scroll" embossing folder.  That piece measures 4" x 2-1/2".  I taped it to the lower part of the card. It did cover up some of the DSP and you can adjust the size of your DSP to 2-1/2" x 4" if you like.  If you are makingre than one card you can save on DSP by cutting the piece this size.  I took a piece of black ribbon and tied it around the card. I did add a couple of glue dots to hold it down near the knot.

I did not have the new die cuts that look like a to of fun but I did use the ones I had on hand.  They are from the "Detailed Bands" set.  It did the job. It's not as lacy looking but it's okay.  I had to die cut one using Basic Black card stock and one using Whisper White (which should have been Very Vanilla).  For the second one you don't need to die cut the whole piece, just the center.  I was able to use a scrap piece to do this.  I set the piece in my Stamparatus and I stamped the  "Happy Halloween" from the "To Every Season" set.  I added some enamel pieces from the "Monster Bash" enamel shapes pack.  I trimmed the sides of the word strip and the card was done. 

I did put some glue down on a piece of plastic and I folded the plastic and pressed it to get the glue to be thin so I could press the card stock piece into it and get just enough glue on it to hold it in place.  I added a little glue to the side pieces so I was reassured the piece was glued down.

The were taped to the inside.  Do yours in Very Vanilla!

This was a fun card to make and I love knowing that I can copy a card I like and use the things I have here.  Be happy with what you have, right?

Harvest Hello, Get Well Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

The "Harvest Hello" set was one I was not going to get but when I saw that it was a pretty versatile set I just had to get it.  It's not only for fall, but for Halloween and even for teachers and get well because there's an apple in the set too.  And there's a matching punch that you can get to go with it so there's no fussy cutting. I wished I would have looked at the punch before I fussy cut those tiny leaves.  Now I know better!  

I found this card on Pinterest and I changed it a little.  You can see the original card here.  

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Mango Melody.  The original card used Terracotta Tile. I did not buy all of the new in colors.  I stamped the leaves using the "Harvest Hellos" set.  I stamped them using Cajun Craze ink.  The original card opens in the middle.  I don't care for that style so I just made this into a regular card.  This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  I took both leaf images and set them on one block and stamped them at the same time from top left corner to bottom right corner.

I stamped the pumpkin on Mango Melody using Cajun Craze ink.  I punched the pumpkin out.  I stamped the leaves using Mint Macaron. The original card used Soft Sea Foam.  I stamped the image using Mint Macaron ink.  I fussy cut mine out but I could have punched them.  Saving that info for future use!! LOL  

I stamped the words on a 1" x 7/8" piece of Mint Macaron using Soft Suede ink.  And I stamped the pumpkin stem using Soft Suede card stock and Soft Suede ink. I also punched that out. 

I took the seeds looking image and stamped across the bottom of a 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Whisper White card stock using Cajun Craze ink.  I cut 3" x 3" piece of Mint Macaron card stock for the layer. 

To assemble, I taped the Mango Melody piece to the card base.  Then I taped the Whisper White piece to the Mint Macaron piece.  I set the pumpkin on using Dimensionals and I added the leaves and stem.  I taped the words in place and then a linen bow was added.  The bow was tied using two pieces of linen thread.  I set it in place with a glue dot.  

I colored three rhinestones using the dark Old Olive Blends Pen.  And that was it, the card is done.

This was a quick and easy card to make.  Quicker if you don't have to fussy cut!!!

Snowman Season, Christmas Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I am SO loving this "Snowman Season" set.  It's so easy and fun to play with.  I will move onto something else tomorrow.  I promise!  With it being October, I only have so many days to play with the Halloween set I have and the Halloween papers, SO you will be seeing some more Halloween cards coming up.  But if I happen to run across or think on my own a fun snowman card, I will probably be making it!!! And it will be SO worth it, right?  LOL

The base of my card (yes, "my" card, no copy) I used Coastal Cabana card stock.  On top of that is a piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Let it Snow" 12" x 12" paper pack.  On the backside of this paper is a bunch of winter head cover.  Hats and caps. And one of the hats can be punched out using the matching punch for this stamp set.  I cut my DSP 4" x 5-1/4" and I taped it to a piece of Whisper White card stock so it was more firm so I could wrap the cute "Real Red Curly Ribbon".  It's a fun yarn ribbon and you can tie a knot at the end and fray it out a bit. SO cute and easy to use too. I love ribbons that are easy to tie and work with.  I taped the piece to the card base.

I stamped the snowman using black Memento ink.  I die cut it out using the Stitched Oval die.  And I also die cut a scalloped oval for the layer.  I colored the snowman using my Blends Pens.  I used the dark Real Red and Shaded Spruce. I also used the dark Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake.  The Pumpkin Pie was used on the nose and the Crumb Cake was used on the ground mounds.  It could be snow but to me it seemed like dirt.  I used the dark Powder Pink Blends Pen for the cheeks.  I taped the layers together and I set it in place using Dimensionals.

I stamped the words from the same "Snowman Season" set using Real Red ink.  I die cut them using the circle dies.  I wasn't smart enough to die cut the Shaded Spruce circle from the scalloped oval. But, fortunately I did have a scrap piece of Shaded Spruce.  I taped those two layers together and set them in place using Dimensionals.  

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card and the card was finished.  

This was a very fun card to make and easy too!!

Let it Snow,Let it Snow Embellishment Kit, Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog, Christmas Card

While surfing the net I found this fun card here.  I don't care for that type of opening so I changed it a bit.  

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  Instead of cutting the front of the card in half, I just left it solid.

I added a 2" x 5-1/4" strip of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Let it Snow" 12" x 12" paper pack.  I taped the piece in place on the left side of the card.  

I stamped three sets of Real Red snowflakes on the left side.  They are from the "Let it Snow" stamp set.  The words are from that set to and I stamped them on the bottom right using Real Red ink too.

I stamped the snowman on a piece of Whisper White card stock and die cut him using the largest Stitched Circle die.  I die cut a Shaded Spruce Scalloped Oval using the largest oval die in the set. 

I colored the snowman in using the dark Real Red and Shaded Spruce Blends Pens.  I also colored the mounds of dirt using the Dark Crumb Cake Blends Pen.  The cheeks were colored using the dark Powder Pink Blends Pen and the nose was colored using the Dark Pumpkin Pie Blends Pen.  

I taped the two layers together and set them in place using Dimenisonals.  

And for the final touch, I added some snowballs from the "Let it Snow" embellishment kit. At first I thought these were styrofoam beads but they are actually felt balls.  They glue on so nicely and they look SO cute on here.  The bag doesn't look like you get many, but in fact there's a lot of them in that over-sized bag!!   Oh and I used two of the small black coal buttons from the kit too.  They just look like black dots here but in real life they have a shine to them.  That kit is SO fun. There's felt scarves, mittens and hats in the kit too. I can't wait to play with them.  Maybe tomorrow or the next day!
