Today's card is finally here! Thanks for waiting. It's also a fun and easy technique.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. On top of that I will be adding a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake card stock.
I cut a 4-5/8" x 1-7/8" piece of Basic Black card stock and a 4-1/2" x 1-3/4" piece of Copper Foil card stock.
The words are from the "Here's a Card" set and they were stamped using black Memento ink on Very Vanilla card stock. I die cut them using the Stitched Oval die and I die cut a Scalloped Oval using a scrap of Basic Black card stock. I could have die cut it from the 4-5/8" x 1-7/8" strip but the scrap piece was just sitting out so I used it.
I also took some white Baker's Twine and colored it with some Crumb Cake ink using a sponge dauber. You might want to do this first and let the ink dry while you work on the other parts of the card.

I took my copper piece and added a very tiny amount of tape to the upper and lower part to hold it in place on my card stock. Don't use too much tape, you will need to remove the foil paper when you are done. This copper piece does need to go on the left side and about 3/8" from the edge on three sides (top, left and bottom). If you are off on these measurements, it's okay, the Basic Black layer will still work just fine. Just make sure it's the same equal amount all around on those three sides.
After setting the copper piece in place on my Crumb Cake piece, I textured it using the "Layered Leaves 3D" embossing folder. I removed the foil piece and added the Basic Black layer. Make sure you don't turn your pieces but if you do, it's easy enough to see where the panel needs to go, it just takes a little time to find the right orientation. Then I taped the layered panel in place on top of the textured Crumb Cake piece. You will want to make sure that your leaves line up so it looks like they just flow from one the Crumb Cake color to the foil piece.
Now you are ready to add the twine. I placed two Dimensionals on the front of the card where the oval will go. Just set your oval on top of the card and eye where the right and center Dimensionals should go and put them there. Remove the backing on the center Dimensional. I set on loops of the twine there. I actually cut my loops because my twine was on a cardboard and I had bend marks in my twine. I may just take my twine and iron it all and wrap it around a paper towel tube (after it is cooled or it will go from a kink to curls) to keep it from getting kinks. After adding the twine, I added some mini glue dots to the top of the ends of the twine. I didn't have any regular size ones on hand or I would have used them. That would have been SO much easier. But I had a bunch left from my last Paper Pumpkin kit and I wanted to use them up. Not successful, I still have a lot left, but that's okay, I still have lots of cards left to make! I added a Dimensional to the left side of the oval and removed the backing. I also removed the backing on the last Dimensional that was already on top of the card. I lined the oval up so it looked straight and pressed it in place. And that was it.
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
