Daisy Lane, Tasteful Background, Varied Vases, Floral Essence, Birthday Card

Today I'd like to share with you a card I found on the internet. I changed the color and Designer Series Paper (DSP) and a few other minor things but other than that it's a copy!!!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Balmy Blue card stock.  On top of that is the multi layer piece. I cut a 3-1/2" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock and die cut the piece from the "Tasteful Backgrounds".  This die was the reason I bought the set.  The other two are nice but this one was my favorite. I stamped the words from the "Varied Vases" set using Old Olive ink.  Then I cut a 2" x 4" piece of the Balmy Blue DSP from the Subtles 6" x 6" DSP stack.  I taped the two pieces together on the back side using scotch tape.  I made sure it measured 4" x 5-1/4".

I wrapped a piece of white Baker's Twine around the piece three times. I taped the ends to the back.  Then I took three strands and tied a knot in the front.  I set the piece in place on top of the Balmy Blue card base using Dimensionals.

I stamped the flower from the "Daisy Lane" stamp set. I used Pacific Point ink to stamp it. I could have used Balmy Blue ink but I thought it was too light and I did want the flower to stand out more. I stamped two flowers and taped them together in the center.  I carefully curled the petals of the flower in a downward motion using my bone folder.  Then I set the flower in the palm of my hand and took the eraser end of a pencil (I keep a clean eraser for this type of thing) and I pressed the center down.  It allowed the center to be inverted and the petals to puff out.  Doing this also makes the center of the flower not look so flat.  I set the flower on top of the card front to eye where the petals would go.  Then I added a large glue dot to that area for the leaves.

I stamped the leaves from the "Floral Essence" set using Old Olive ink on Old Olive card stock.  If you don't have this set, you can just punch the leaves using Old Olive card stock and the "Leaf Punch" and sponge the edges.  I set the leaves where I thought they would look best and then added the flower.  I pressed a medium sized gold "Faceted Gem" to the center of the flower and a few gold sequins to the outside of the card and it was done.

This was a fun card to make and I LOVE the colors.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda

  1. I just found your card on Pinterest which led me to your blog. I absolutely love your card and CASED your CASE. :) I did mine with the Highland Heather Heather paper and then stamped the daisy with Gorgeous Grape. I love the new Balmy Blue In Color, too.
