Wonderful Moments, Magnolia Lane, Birthday Card, 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I ran across a card I had made a while back that I saved because I liked the layout.  I can't find the original card on my blog.  Maybe it's so old and before I started blogging.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Early Espresso card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock that was textured using the "Eyelet Lace" embossing folder.

For the Designer Series Paper (DSP) I just set the corner of the DSP on top of the card stock and marked the side edges for cutting.  The edges on the inner part of the card front are clean factory cut edges.  Just mentioning that for more orientation of how the piece was cut.  After cutting the DSP, I cut a piece of Early Espresso card stock so I had a border around the part of the card stock in the middle of the card.  The edges were left alone, they lined up with the Whisper White embossed piece.  I taped the layers together and then taped the Whisper White piece to the card base.

I die cut a Whisper White stitched circle and an Early Espresso scalloped circle and taped those two together.  I taped the circled to the front of the card.

I had cut a flower from the "Magnolia Lane" DSP 12" x 12" pack.  I did fussy cut it but it's okay, it was only one piece!  I set the flower in place using Dimenisonals.

The words are from the "Wonderful Moments" set using Mossy Meadow ink.  I punched them out using the Modern Label punch.  I also punched two using Early Espresso card stock.  I taped the Early Espresso pieces to the back of the word piece.  I set the word piece in place using Dimensionals.  And for the final touch, I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card.

This was a fun card to make and I REALLY like this layout.  I was glad I was able to get it to work with the DSP I had on hand.  The original card used a pretty multi-colored polka dotted piece of DSP.  I found that to be easier to work with than the floral ones I had but fortunately the striped one I used was the backside of one of the flower ones.  YAY!!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
