To a Wild Rose, Good Morning Magnolia, Birthday Card

I bought this pretty background die cut that I thought I'd get a lot of use out of but I found it extremely difficult to work with.  The "Stitched Lace" die is absolutely stunning but I had a lot of trouble with all of the pieces. It took a while to remove them all.  And I also cut two rows of the lace of the four in the die.  When I say that I cut, I mean, I fussy cut around the bumps so I had two rows of bumpy lace.  That part was okay, I just didn't like trying to get all of the teeny tiny pieces out of the image.  I'm not sure how much I will be using this.  Maybe I'd use it as a full piece but not so much as a fussy cut lacy strip.  With that said, I will now tell you how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I textured it with the "Subtle" embossing folder.  Looking forward, I probably wouldn't just texture the front of a card like that. I would texture a 4" x 5-1/4" piece and then add it to the card front. Texturing the whole front with texture like this made the card front feel flimsy. 

After texturing, I added the lacy piece that was fussy cut from the "Stitched Lace" die.  

The flower is from the "To a Wild Rose" set. I stamped the outline using black Memento ink.  Then I stamped the background using Highland Heather ink and the third layer was stamped using Gorgeous Grape.  I die cut the flower and set it in place using Dimensionals.  

I stamped the leaves using one of the leaf background images and Pear Pizzazz ink.  I stamped the vein image using Old Olive ink.  I die cut the leaves and taped them in place behind the flower.

The words are from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set. I stamped them using Gorgeous Grape ink. I die cut them with the "Stitched Nested Labels" die cuts. I set the words in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

It wasn't too bad of a card to make but I would rethink the lacy piece and I wouldn't texture the card base front like I did. I would add a textured layer.
