Beautiful Friendship, Butterfly Wishes, Birthday Card, 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today's card was a fun one.  I played with a fun "technique" that I've done a few other times.  I had made one a while back using the "Abstract Impressions" set. You can see that card here. It's such a fun set too.  Today I played with the "Beautiful Friendship" set (again!).

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Coastal Cabana card stock.  And on top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White that was textured using the "Eyelet Lace" embossing folder.  I LOVE that folder and I've had a lot of fun with it.  Before I set the Whisper White piece in place with Dimensionals, I tied a ribbon around it.  The ribbon here is not from Stampin' Up!.  I didn't have any Coastal Cabana ribbon at all, not even any that was retired.

The template I made to do the circle stamping holds card stock that is cut 2-7/8" x 2-7/8".  I first stamped the small flower that was a double flower on the stamp. I masked the larger flower off.  I stamped the smaller flower using Flirty Flamingo ink. I did color the stem using the Pear Pizzazz marker.  Next I stamped a leaf between each flower using the double leaf image. I masked off what I needed to on the card so I only got the image of the smaller leaf.  I used Pear Pizzazz ink to stamp the leaf.  Then i stamped the yellow dotted flower image.  I used Daffodil Delight ink and masked off what I needed to.  And I used the same stamp to stamp on some Coastal Cabana dotted flowers.  I thought the circle needed a bit more color and that was exactly what it needed.

I cut a 3" x 3" piece of Coastal Cabana card stock and taped the stamped image to it.  I set the piece in place on the card front using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Butterfly Wishes" set. I stamped them using Pear Pizzazz ink.  I think Coastal Cabana might have a been better choice.  I die cut the words using the circle dies and I set them in place using Dimensionals.  I was going to add some sequins but I forgot and I'm kind of thinking I like the card the way it is.  But there's always that option if you want to dress the card up a bit more.

This was a very fun card to make and I do like the way it looks.  I LOVE the colors. It's a warm and inviting card.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
