Good Morning Magnolia, Thinking of You Card, 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Not only do I LOVE the large flower from the "Good Morning Magnolia" but I love this small flower as well. It's petiteness has a quality all it's own.  I found this card here.  What really caught my eye was the black outline on the flower.  It helps to make the flower stand out even more.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Petal Pink card stock.  This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

On top of the card base is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock that was textured using the "Layered Leaf" embossing folder.

To the left was taped a 4" x 3-1/4" piece of the Designer Series Paper from the 12" x 12" "Magnolia Lane" pack.  The original card used 1/2" black satin ribbon. I only had some 5/8" black satin ribbon, so I went with it.  It's not that much larger.  My other option would have been to use a strip of black card stock.  But I thought my ribbon would be just fine. I taped the ends of the ribbon to the backside of the embossed piece.  I added some snail tape to the back of the embossed piece and set it in place on top of the card base.

I stamped the flower from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set using black Memento ink.  I colored the flower using both light and dark Petal Pink Blends pens.  The leaves were colored using both light and dark Old Olive Blends pens and the stem was colored in using the light Soft Suede Blends pen.  The piece was die cut and then the white around the edge was colored in using the black Blends pen.

The words are from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set and were stamped on Whisper White card stock using black Memento ink.  Then they were die cut using the "Stitched Nested Labels" die cuts.  It was set in place using Dimensionals.

The flower was set on top of the "Stitched Nested Label" piece using Dimensionals.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock was taped to the inside and the card was complete.

This was a very fun and easy card to make.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
