Good Morning Magnolia, Thinking of You Card, 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found this card on Pinterest and thought was SO pretty. It's got such a soft look to it.  I didn't make it the way the original card was made because I don't care for that type of layout.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Petal Pink.  I cut a 1-1/8" x 5-1/4" strip of the Petal Pink striped paper from the "Magnolia Lane" Designer Series Paper (DSP).  And I cut a 3" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.

I stamped the flower image on the Whisper White piece.  I colored the flower in with both light and dark Petal Pink Blends pens.  I colored the leaves in using both light and dark Old Olive Blends pens.  I colored the center of the flower using the dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen and I colored the stem using the light Soft Suede Blends pen.

For the flower and leaves, I colored them solid with the light pen and then came back in with the dark pen.  I mostly followed the shaded areas on the flower.  You just need to think of where the sun would shine and where it wouldn't.  Where it won't reach, you color that part darker.  

Then I stamped the words from the "Magnolia Lane" set.  This set has some very nice wording in such a pretty font and it's got great flowers to stamp and color. 

After I finished the coloring I taped the DSP strip to the back of the Whisper White piece.  There isn't a whole lot to tape to it.  You want your piece to measure 4" x 5-1/4" when you are done taping.

Next I taped the piece to the card base.  I tied a pretty ribbon around the left side of the card from the "Polka Dot Tulle" ribbon spool.  It's just a simple knot and the ends are trimmed.

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card and that was it. I just love how Blends pens make coloring so quick and easy.

I think this card is very elegant.  It would also make a great birthday, Mother's Day, thank you and even a sympathy card.
