Daisy Lane, Here's a Card, Birthday Card, 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! Catalog

One more "Daisy Lane" card before I move onto another stamp set.  What was supposed to be a quick and simple card turned out to be the opposite for me.  Look at the card, does it look that difficult to you?  Well it's not but I managed to make it that way.  LOL  I found this fun and simple card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Crumb Cake card stock.  On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock.  And on top of that is the Crumb Cake focal piece that measures 3-5/8" x 4-7/8".

I stamped the stem using Mossy Meadow ink.  Then I stamped the words from the "Here's a Card" set using Night of Navy ink.  And that's it for the stamping.  Well, on my first attempt, I had the words set up in my Stamparatus because my ink pad is a little dry and if I needed to reink, I wanted to make sure it would stamp in the exact same spot.  I had the words too close to the hinge and I had trouble getting the B to make contact.  SO, I inked it up again and pressed really hard.  I ended up with an edge of the stamp line on my card.  Yup, I inked the edges and didn't look and went ahead and stamped.  Well, not a big deal, just turn it over and try again.  I turned it over and did the same exact thing.  UGH!!!  So off to the cutter I go to cut a new piece of Crumb Cake and this time I cleaned the stamp and set the card up on a different part of the Stamparatus and I got a clear image after two stampings.  Two clean stampings!!!  Then I stamped the stem again and I was ready for the assembly.

I punched out two daisies from the large Daisy punch using Whisper White card stock.  I glued the centers together.  I set it aside while I got out my Dimensionals and the flower center from the "Perennial Essence Floral Centers" container.  These are SO darn cute.

I taped the Whisper White piece in place and then the Crumb Cake piece on top of that.

I set the flower in place with a Dimensional and I added the flower center.  And don't forget to add a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside of the card.

It was a fun card to make and if you can keep your stamp edges clean it will be super easy to make too!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

  1. After hearing your story, it makes me feel better when it takes me twice as long to make a card as I thought it would. It's a very pretty card. I love the font of the sentiment and the simplicity of the card. Enjoy your day!
