Oh my gosh. I never thought I'd get this card posted. I was SO easily distracted by incoming emails, messages and the tv. Usually I can stay pretty much focused but not today!
Today's card is another turtle card from the "Back on Your Feet" set. I found a cute card here and thought I would try to recreate it. I used Soft Sea Foam card stock instead of Old Olive. I think Pear Pizzazz would have been a better choice but I wanted the words to be easier to read, so a lighter color of card stock was the way to go.
For the coloring of the turtle, click here. I colored him the same way as I've done in the past. I die cut him using 2-1/4" circle die. The next circle is Soft Sea Foam and I used the 2-3/8" circle die and for the Mossy Meadow, I used the 2-5/8" circle die. From the looks of the original card, I should have used the 2-3/8" circle die and worked larger from there. But it is what it is. There were no instructions on the size of the dies. After coloring, I taped the layers together, offset as shown.
The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Mossy Meadow. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock. I stamped the Whisper White piece with the circle images from the "Beauty Abounds" set using Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Soft Sea Foam and Soft Suede inks.
The words are from the "Back on Your Feet" set and I stamped them using black Memento ink on Soft Sea Foam card stock. I used the Triple Banner punch to cut the pointed ends. I stamped the words and then I trimmed the piece to fit. I set the words in place using Dimensionals.
I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card and it was done.
I like it. I think it's cute and I LOVE the layout.
