Magnolia Lane, Good Morning Magnolia, Magnolia Memories, Thinking of You Card, 2019-2020 Stampin" Up! Catalog

Today's card was a fun one.  This is actually a technique but I changed it.  You can see the original card here.  The instructions are there if you want to make this card the way it was designed to be made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.

On top of the card base I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White.

I cut two pieces of the Designer Series Paper  (DSP) from the "Magnolia Lane" 12" x 12" paper pack.  I cut those pieces 4" x 2".  I cut a 4" x 2" piece of scrap copier paper. I folded it in half on the long side.  I took the right corner and brought it down to the bottom of the center fold.  It forms a triangle.  I also did this on the left side.  I turned the DSP over and traced the folded triangle onto it.  I went to my paper cutter and cut along the lines.  I taped the two pieces in place on top of the Whisper White piece.

I used the new "Stitched Nested Labels" dies for the center layers.  I die cut one using Basic Black card stock. A smaller one of Blushing Bride card stock and the smallest one using Whisper White.  In the package of dies, it was the 3rd, 4th and 5th largest dies.

I set the Whisper White piece in my Stamparatus and stamped the words from the "Good Morning Magnolia" stamp set.  I used black Memento ink. I stamped them closer to the right side so I had room to add the flower.

In the "Magnolia Memories" die set, I used the two flower ones. I cut two of each using Whisper White card stock.  I also die cut the centers using the dies in the set with Daffodil Delight and Basic Black card stock. I cut two of each.  I sponged some Blushing Bride ink on the tips of the flower petals and on the tips of the Daffodil Delight pieces.  Then I glued them all together.  I set them in place using a Dimensional.

I die cut two leaves from the same die set. They were cut using Mossy Meadow card stock. I glued them in place under the flower.

And the final touch was a Faceted Gem in the center of the flower.

I like the technique in the original card but it's not easy to add money, check or gift card to it without it showing.  I like the layout and I just went with that and I like how it turned out.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
