Today's card is a very simple one to make. I was playing with the new "Perennial Essence" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP). The papers in this pack are stand alone paper. You can just put a piece on your card stock and call it done! But what fun is that? That's only if you need a quick card.
So to make my card, I took a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. I die cut the lacy edge from the "Delicate Lace Edgelits" dies. There's three fun dies in that package. I measured 1-1/2" from the fold and I set the die on the card stock. Open the card up before you die cut the piece out. And no, I'm not telling you that because I forgot. I remembered (this time!!! LOL). If you click on the photo you might be able to see my pencil mark at the bottom of the card. I had not erased them yet.
Next I took a 2-1/2" x 5-1/2" of the DSP and taped it to the inside of the front of the card. I did line up the DSP with the inside back of the card. I just added tape to the inside front and closed the card. It was the easiest way to line up the DSP and get it even. I did take a dot of glue on each of the solid areas under the lacy parts. I didn't like the way it was sticking up. I also cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock and taped it to the inside cover so the DSP wouldn't show. I did cut the 4-1/4" piece a hair shorter so it wouldn't feel too tight in the fold.
The words are from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set. I stamped them using Rich Razzleberry ink. You can use a number of colors here. I could have gone with Black Merry Bliss, Night of Navy, Melon Mambo, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and your standard Basic Black or Black Memento. I liked the Rich Razzleberry. It was just dark enough to show up but not so dark that it looked black. I die cut the words using the stitched circle die that measures 1-7/8" and I die cut a slightly larger scalloped circle to layer behind the words piece. I taped the layers together and set them in place on the front of the card.
I colored some rhinestones using the dark Granny Apple Green Blends pen. I gave them a few minutes to dry before I took them off the clear sheet and placed them on the card.
I was pleased with how the card turned out and I LOVE the lacy looking edge.
Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
