Good Morning Magnolia, Here's a Card, Birthday Card, 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today I took out the new "Good Morning Magnolia" set. I purchased the bundle so I have the die cuts too.  I usually don't buy one without the other. I'm too spoiled now by the dies and I hate fussy cutting anymore.  But I will do it if I absolutely have to!

I found today's card here.  I thought it was so pretty and fun. I LOVED the idea of using the "Buffalo Plaid".  When I get new stamps, I tend to forget about the old ones.  Perhaps that is why the old ones retire too quickly.

Today's card was fun and easy to make.  I stamped the flowers using black Memento ink.  I colored them in using the Blends pens, Petal Pink (light and dark), Flirty Flamingo (light), Old Olive (light and dark), Mango Melody (light),  Soft Suede (dark) and Pear Pizzazz marker.  I colored the center of the flowers sing the Mango Melody.  Then I colored the entire flower (petals) using the light Petal Pink. I came back in with some dark Petal Pink and then I added a little Flirty Flamingo to give the card a little more highlights.  I colored the leaves using light Old Olive.  Then I came back in with the dark Old Olive.  I also used the Pear Pizzazz marker to add another shade of green.  I colored over the petals with Wink of Stella because I wanted a little sparkle to my card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I cut it on the 8-1/2" side. This card opens at the bottom (the fold is at the top).  The Buffalo Plaid piece measures 4" x 5-1/4".  I tore off the bottom left corner and sponged the edges.  I taped the piece in place on top of the card base.

I stamped the words from the "Here's a Card" set using Crumb Cake ink.

I set the flowers in place using Dimensionals.  And then I added the gold pearls.  I didn't add the linen bow. I'm not sure if it's linen, but I didn't add it. I didn't think it needed it.  The flower is the focal point and I love how it all pulls together and makes a sweet card.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
