Touches of Texture, Birthday Card, Sympathy Card, Get Well Card

The "Touches of Texture" stamp set will be retiring soon.  I liked this set because it was very versatile.  This card could easily be a birthday, sympathy, get well, thinking of you or even a Mother's Day card.  I will be putting some of my retired set up for sale in my web store.  This will begin around the beginning of the second week in June.

Today's card was VERY simple to make.  I had found it while surfing the net.  You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. With the card opened and on the scoring board, score from the left edge in at 4-3/4", 4-7/8", 7-7/8" and 8".  Isn't that a pretty way to add some simple texture to the card front?  And easy too!

Next I took a 2-1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock and I stamped the flower image from the "Touches of Texture" set using black Memento ink.  I colored them in with the retired Powder Pink marker and a Blender Pen.  I colored the leaves in using the light and dark Old Olive Blends pens.  I taped that piece to a 2-3/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Flirty Flamingo.  I taped the two layers together.  I taped a strip of Old Olive ribbon around the panels.  I didn't have any current Old Olive ribbon so I used some retired stuff.  The original card used Mint Macaron for the ribbon. I didn't have any Mint Macaron ribbon either.  And it looks like Mint Macaron was also used for the leaf colors.  Okay, back to my card....

Next I set the stamped panel in place using Dimensionals and for the final touch I added some tiny pearls to the inside of the 5 open flowers.  And that was it.  It's a very pretty and elegant looking card.  I think this would be SO pretty using the Highland Heather colors!!!  I don't have any matching ribbon though but some white ribbon and a Blends pen and I'm in business!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
