Tonight I will be participating in a card swap using the "Wiper" technique. It's a pretty simple technique, it's just got a lot of pieces to it. You can find a good tutorial here. It's a You Tube tutorial and easy to follow. I would explain it, but it's easier to follow the video.
For the front of my card I used the "Geared Up Garage" set. I stamped the car on a 3-1/2" x 2-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock. I colored the car using the Real Red marker. I don't have the Real Red Blends pen yet, but it will be in my next order! I also used the Daffodil Delight marker on the lights and the Smoky Slate for the tires and grill. I taped that piece to a 3-5/8" x 2-3/8" piece of Basic Black.
The Real Red piece was cut 2-3/4" x 8". The piece is folded in half and the car layers were taped to it. I didn't want to tape the piece to the card front because the red would just blend in, so I cut a 2-7/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Basic Black.
I did add a 3-1/2" x 2-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside Real Red piece for writing the sentiment on.
I die cut some Basic Black and Real Red gears for embellishment.
The words on the side are from the "Perennial Birthday" set. And the words on the wiper piece are from the "Geared Up Garage" set. I added a gear to the end of the wiper piece.
The technique is fun but not when you have to make a bunch for a swap. LOL
This would also make a great Father's Day card, don't you think?
Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
