This Little Piggy, Perennial Birthday, Birthday Card

I was planning on playing with some new sets from the 2019 Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog and I ran across the "This Little Piggy" set and my whole thought process changed. I was distracted by a cute little piggy!!  LOL  It's okay though, I'm guessing this set might be retiring soon, so I thought I would play with it for probably one last time, since I have so many other sets to play with I might not get back to it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Powder Pink.  On top of that is a 4-1/2" x 3-1/8" piece of Whisper White card stock.  And taped to that is a 4-3/8" x 3" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Garden Impressions" 6" x 6" pack.

I die cut a piece of Melon Mambo card stock using the "Stitched Rectangles" dies.  I used the 4th and 5th largest ones.  I stamped the piggy image using black Memento ink. I did mask off the words so I could make it a birthday card.  I die cut it using the 4th smallest stitched die.  And then I die cut the Melon Mambo layer using the 5th largest die.

I colored the piggy in using Light and Dark Petal Pink Blends.  I colored the whole piggy in with light first and then added the highlights.  I colored the flower petals in using the Light Bermuda Bay Blends.  The center of the flower was colored in using the Daffodil Delight Blends and the leaf was colored in using the Light Old Olive Blends pen.  I LOVE using those pens, it makes coloring so effortless and smooth looking.

I taped those two together and then I added Dimensionals to the back and set the image in place over the DSP piece.

The words are from the Perennial Birthday set and were stamped using Melon Mambo ink.  I think black Memento ink would have been better, but it still looks fine with the Melon Mambo.

This was a very easy and quick card to make.  I can see myself using this layout again in the near future.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
