Today's card was a quick and simple one and it shows!! It's not one of my better works but I needed to make a quick card because my schedule is packed and there's still more things to tend to. Stamping when you are stressed is not fun! Tomorrow I will have more time to enjoy the stamping.
The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Melon Mambo card stock. It opens on the right.
I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock, a 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" piece of Old Olive and a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of "Share What You Love" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP). I taped those layers together and then taped them to the card base.
I stamped the image from the "Just Because" set. I masked off the words. I really didn't want to make a Mother's Day card today. I colored in the vase using the Petal Pink marker. Then I colored over it using a Blender Pen and Crumb Cake ink. What I did was I scribbled on one of my stamping blocks and picked up the color with the Blender Pen. I colored in the flower petals using the Melon Mambo marker and the leaves were colored in using the Old Olive marker. It's pretty simple basic coloring. I die cut the image with the Stitched oval die. And I die cut a layer using Melon Mambo card stock.
The words are from the "Sheltering Tree" set and they were stamped using black Memento ink. I trimmed them and then added a layer 1/8" larger behind it. I set the oval in place using Dimensionals and then I added the words on top of it, centering it. I added Dimensionals to the ends of the word piece and one on the bottom center. The top center is sitting on top of the oval. And that was it.
This was a simple and quick card to make but the background is a bit too busy for my taste.
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
