The robins are here and feeding on our miniature crab trees. It won't be long before the butterflies will be back. I'm anxious to see them (as are the robins, I'm sure!). So today I thought I would play with some paper butterflies.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. On top of that I taped Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Share What You Love" pack. I cut the DSP at 5-1/4" x just a little over 1-7/8". If you cut them at 1-7/8" there will be a lot more black showing. It can be adjusted some to look okay but to balance it out you can cut the other ends of each strip to 5-1/8". It should balance it out more.
I took a piece of Whisper White that was cut 2-1/2" x 3-1/2". I stamped the words from an old Paper Pumpkin kit. I don't know which one it was, sorry. But you can find any words you want to add there. I was looking for "thinking of you" and this is what I came up with. I added a 1/8" larger piece of Basic Black, cutting it at 2-3/8" x 3-3/8". I taped those layers together and adding it to the card front using Dimensionals.
The butterflies are from the "Butterfly Gala" set. I stamped the butterflies and punched them out using the "Butterfly Duet" punch. I colored them using a sponge dauber and Melon Mambo ink. I also sprayed them with some "Frost White Shimmer Paint" in a spritzer bottle to give them a little shimmer. I added pearls to the centers of each butterfly to give it a bit more glamour. I set the butterflies in place using Dimensionals. And that was it. I thought it was an easy and quick card to make.
Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
