Butterfly Beauty, Dandelion Wishes, Get Well Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog

I found today's card on Pinterest. I thought it was such a fun card that I just had to make it. You can see the original card here.  There are no instructions so I will share with you how I made my version.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. This card opens on the right.

I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock and textured it using the "Layered Leaves" embossing folder. I taped that layer on the front of the card base.

Next I die cut the butterflies using the thicker "Butterfly Beauty" thinlits dies. I cut a Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry from the die.  I cut out the large butterfly from the Daffodil Delight card stock.  I cut the Calypso Coral butterfly that was on the top left wing of the large butterfly and the small butterfly came from the one on the upper right wing of the large butterfly.

I die cut the thin butterflies die using Basic Black card stock.  I glued the Daffodil Delight butterfly to the black piece.  Then I glued the Calypso Coral one and the small one was done independently. Cutting the smaller butterfly from the large right wing caused the upper part of the right wing to look funny but it's okay because the word circle will hide it. I taped the double butterfly piece in place  on the front of the card using snail tape.

The words are from the "Dandelion Wishes" set. I stamped them on Whisper White card stock using black Memento ink.  I set the words in place using Dimensionals.

The smaller butterfly was set in place by adding some snail tape to the right wings where they would touch the circle and a piece of Dimensional along the center of the body.  And that was it.  It is pretty quick to make. I didn't care much for gluing the black to the colored pieces but as the glue dried it began to grow on me!  Once I got the card put together, I REALLY liked it!  I can see myself making another one someday.

The butterfly set (Butterfly Gala) and the matching dies are retiring at the end of May and the "Daffodil Delight" set is also retiring.  I really like that set and am sad to see that one leave.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
