Just Because, Thinking of You Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog

I was looking on the internet to see what I could be inspired by using the "Just Because" set.  I loved the way this one card was colored so I ran with it.  I have no information on the card, only a link for you to see it.  Click here to see that card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that I cut three 1/2" strips of the green leafy looking image from the "Share What You Love" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP).  I cut them to 5" long each.  I centered the first one and then eyed the other two.  I just wanted to make sure they were inside the rectangle and I did just that with room to spare.

I stamped the potted plant image from the "Just Because" set from the 2019 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog.  I used black Memento ink.  I had cut that piece 2-7/8" x 3-7/8"/

I colored in the image using the Blends pens.  I tried to color it like the image I had found on the net.  First I took the light Old Olive pen and colored the tips of the leaves and a little bit towards the center. I wanted to make sure I left the center of the leaves uncolored.  Then I took the dark Old Olive pen and colored the leaves from the stems out towards the center.  I did go back with the light Old Olive pen and colored on some of the leaves that had too much white showing.

For the planter I used the Bronze pen and colored it but made sure I left a strip down the left side. I tried using the green Painter's tape but the ink bled a bit so I just had to wing it.  When I was done with the Bronze pen I took the light Calypso Coral pen and colored over the pot.  I wanted to try to get a nice terracotta color.  It's close!  I like the color and that is what's important.  I did take the color lifter pen and colored up and down on the white strip  to try to smooth out that line and yet give it a bit of a fuzzy look.  That worked too and I like the effect.

I cut a piece of Mossy Meadow for the back layer.  It measured 3" x 4".  I taped the two layers together and set them in place on top of the SDSP strips using Dimensionals and that was it.

This was a super easy, quick and fun card to make. I can see myself making more.
