I thought I would get a few Mother's Day cards going since I need to have some ready for the annual garage sale. I often gifts and cards to go with them. It makes the kids happy that they have something fun for mom plus a card. The sale is the Saturday before Mother's Day and it's just crazy here but you sell tons of your stuff!
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Gray Granite. On top of that is a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of the Highland Heather Gingham Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 6" x 6" "Gingham Gala" pack.
I stamped the flower pot image from the "Just Because" set. That is a fun set and it's got other sentiments in it too, plus another leafy green thing in a pot and a plant in a pot. I have masked off the words and just stamped the image and added other wording. It's pretty versatile.
I die cut the image using one of the Stitched Rectangle dies. I cut a Granny Apple Green layer 1/8" larger than the stitched layer.
Next I colored in the image using the Blends markers. The background is the light Highland Heather. The pot was colored in using a light gray. The flowers were colored in using both light and dark Daffodil Delight. And the leaves were colored in using both light and dark Granny Apple Green pens. I LOVE coloring with the blends. It's quick, easy and it looks like you know how to color well!
I taped those two layers together and set the focal piece in place using Dimensionals.
This was a very simple, quick and pretty card to make.
Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
I just love it!
