Dandelion Wishes, Get Well Card

Today I wanted to play with a doily and one of those square images from the "Petal Promenade" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack.  I had cut several of them out a while back and I found one on my worktable when I was cleaning it off.  So after I got half way through the cleaning I stopped to work on the card.  I was obsessed with the square and just had to make it. So the only way I could get my cleaning done was to stop and work on the card and then go back to cleaning when I was done!  But to be honest here, I didn't get much more cleaning done after that!!!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Fresh Fig card stock that I textured using the "Subtle" embossing folder.  I like that folder, it gives the card stock the look of linen paper.  And it was just enough texture to the background without taking away from the focal part.

I stamped the words from the "Dandelion Wishes" set using black Memento ink.

I cut a 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" square of Berry Burst card stock and taped it to the focal piece.  I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

I cut a doily in half.  I removed the protective covers to the Dimensionals and set the doily on it, catching a couple of Dimensionals. I added a little bit of glue to the back of the doily and then set the pieces in place.

I tied a Berry Burst Metallic edge ribbon bow and used a glue dot to hold it in place.

I added a few rhinestones to the card and it was done.

I thought it was a fun card to make. I LOVE how you can use so many different colors of card stock to blend with the image piece.  I chose those colors because I have a lot left and they will be expiring in a few months.  I rarely use up all of the in colors before they expire.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
