I took the day off yesterday because I was not feeling well. I have the influenza stuff that is going around. I thought I had this stuff the day after Christmas and for the following three weeks but it was either something else or it didn't take hold fully. I'm SO tired of coughing. I slept for a total of 36 hours straight. I've never slept that long in my life! Today I'm feeling a little better, I still have the nagging cough but the body aches, headache a teeth hurting are gone. The cough could go away anytime and I'd like unplugged ears but I'll take it a little bit each day. I read up on this and it takes about 10 days to get over it. 10 days feels SO long. But last month, on December 15th, 10 days didn't feel long at all!!! LOL It's all about perspective!!
Okay, onto this fun card. I had gotten the "Geared Up Garage" set and the matching dies. This was a pretty simple card to make.
The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. On top of that is a piece of the "Classic Garage" Designer Series Paper (DSP). The yellow piece on here is the backside of the traffic sign paper. The traffic signs piece was cut at 1-1/2" and the other side was cut at 3-3/4". I cut a 1/2" strip of Basic Black to hide where the two pieces meet.
I cut the Whisper White piece of card stock 3-3/8" x 3-1/8" I set the words and the card from the "Geared Up Garage" set on my Stamparatus. I inked both up at the same time and stamped the image. I colored the card using the dark Daffodil Blends marker. I added light Smoky Slate to the bottom of the card for the shadow and dark Smoky Slate for some of the chrome on the car.
I die cut the gears using silver foil paper and I set them in place using a bit of glue.
I think it was a fun card to make. I did find this card on the net and I changed it a bit. You can see the original card here.
And now I'm off to curl up with a couple of blankets and veg for the night.
Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda

So sorry You are sick, I thought you had paid your dues with that stuff in Dec.! Always something else out there to get us. Take time and feel better!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to be such a dimwit! I don't understand your measurements for your card base and your DSP as well as your White CS panel? If you fold a CS sheet cut at 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" I got a score line at 2 3/4". Am I correct? I guess I'm just not sure about these DSP cuts or the 1/2" you cut off so you wouldn't see it on your card base? I think? I really love your card. My husband birthday is Monday . I want the card ready. Could you PLEASE share a little more info with me about how to cut and make your card?
ReplyDeleteI really hope and pray you are feeling much better by now! It's no fun being sick! Please, take good care of yourself! We care!
Hello Gloria. You are not a dimwit in anyway! The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of card stock. When you fold that half-sheet in half you get a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" card. Your score line would be at 4-1/4". I hope this helps out. I am not able to contact people individually on here, so I am hoping you check back to see this post. And thank you, I am feeling better. Still not 100% but SO much better.
