Today I was at Terri's Stamping Extravaganza. It's a fun time and a great way to see the new items in the Sale-a-Bration and Occasions catalog first hand. Lots of fun samples and inspiration. It's a chance to see the items up close and personal. A chance to ask questions and learn a little too! There's even drawings for Stampin' Up! products every hour. Ticket entries at the door when you come in and free items above and beyond the Sale-a-Bration ones when you make qualifying purchases. I had a great time and took LOTS of photos. Today's card was inspired by one of the photos I took. The original card used the Grapefruit Grove color. I did not buy any of the in colors this time around. And the base of the original card was a folded half-sheet of the Grapefruit Grove card stock. Here I used Whisper White.
I textured the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather using the new "Lace Dynamic" embossing folder. It's SO pretty!
I cut the Whisper White layer on top at 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" and I cut the 3" x 3" piece of gingham Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 6" x 6" Gingham Gala pack. You could make 4 cards from one sheet with this layout.
I took a 2-1/8" circle and I stamped the bubbles from the "Beauty Abounds" stamp set using Highland Heather ink. I stamped again without inking up the stamp again.
The butterfly is from the "Botanical Butterfly" DSP pack. I punched out the butterfly using the new paper punch.
The words are from the "Perennial Birthday" set. I stamped them using Highland Heather ink. I stamped them on a 3-3/8" x 1-7/8" strip of Whisper White card stock.
I taped the Highland Heather embossed piece to the card base. Then I taped the Whisper White piece to the gingham piece and set it in place using Dimensionals. I set the circle in place with Dimensionals. And I added a Dimensional to the butterfly and set it on top of the circle but a bit off center. The words were set in place using Dimensionals as well.
This was a fun card to make and I can see myself making 3 more using this layout!!
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
