A while back I made a pretty card using the "Abstract Impressions" flower in a circle. I totally forgot how I made it. I should have done a search on my blog to find that card. Well, I did do a search but after I made the card and wondered why it looked so sparse!!! The original card can be found here, nice and full and not sparse! The card I had made can be found here. I liked the colors of the original card but I didn't have the Berry Burst ribbon. Now that I had the ribbon I wanted to make that card and I made it wrong!!
I have been keeping this Cajun Craze template in my Stamparatus for safe keeping, along with the square that fits in the middle of it. This template was so you could stamp that 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" square. And now I don't remember what that template was for. So I surfed my blog and found it. Click here to see why you would use a template like the one pictured below. Plus it will tell you how to make that template too. Then you can save it and wonder why! LOL
The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of silver foil card stock. And the focal piece is cut 4" x 5-1/4". I did use the template to stamp the flowers. I just taped my focal piece on the back of the template with removable tape. I centered it first. Then I just stamped the large flower using Berry Burst ink, stamped off once. I stamped on every section. Then I used the smaller flower and stamped with Berry Burst on top of each flower. I removed the focal piece and stamped the leaves using Granny Apple Green ink. I added a few more leaves to fill in the gaps.
The words are from the same "Abstract Impressions" set. I used black Memento ink to stamp them. I used a medium glue dot to stick the tiny silver sequin ribbon to the wreath and then I added another glue dot on top to stick the ribbon in place.

I added rhinestones to the center of each flower and it was fun. I laugh because I wanted to make this card SO bad and I still messed it up. But it ended up being a pretty mess but it still wasn't what I wanted!!! I'll still use it though, it was a happy accident!
Thank you SO much for stopping by today,

I wouldn't say you made it wrong, just different and still very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI've made patterns for different things and later when I come across them wonder what the heck they were for.
