Today I wanted to play with the "Abstract Impressions" set. I found this card on Pinterest. I had a piece of the Poppy Parade Designer Series Paper from the 6" x 6" DSP pack. It was cut 4-1/4" x 3-1/2". Had it been a little longer the card would have looked more like the original. But since you haven't gone and looked at the original, this looks great, right??? LOL
The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. This was cut on the 8-1/2" side and folded at 5-1/2". This card opens at the bottom.
I punched out the Poppy Parade border using the "Ribbon Border Punch". I forgot that was not retired. I have not used mine much. I taped it to the edge of the DSP and then I taped the DSP to the card front.
The words are from the "Perennial Birthday" set. I stamped them using Poppy Parade ink.
I stamped the stems of the floral image first. I used the thickest stems first with Pear Pizzazz ink. My ink pad needs ink! And then I stamped the thinner ones using Granny Apple Green.
I stamped the flowers using Daffodil Delight and the highlights were done using Crushed Curry. I should have used the Mango Melody, it would have been a little darker.
I die cut the flowers using the second largest stitched oval die. The original was done using the largest die. I die cut the scalloped oval using Granny Apple Green card stock. I taped those two layers together and set them on the card using Dimensionals.
It's a pretty easy and quick card to make. I think it would also make a great thank you,, get well, thinking of you or Mother's Day card. I like this layout and I LOVE the ribbon border!
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
