Signs of Santa, Santa's Workshop, Swirly Bird, Christmas Card

Merry Christmas. I hope this day is bringing you lots of joy!  Mine is consisting of making a nice dinner to be ready at noon. A friend is coming over to eat and watch a movie. I have a couple of gifts I made for her to make her day a bit more merry. Like spending it with me isn't enough!!! LOL  In the evening we will visit with my mom and exchange gifts then.  And then it's back home to crash!  Tomorrow is hubby's birthday, so it's another day of celebrating.  Christmas Eve is spent with our son and his family.  Lots of activities around those 3 days!  And some of the days to follow.  The 28th is my day. There's nothing going on and I am not going to do a thing!! It's my day. I may just head to my workroom and stamp all day.  And maybe clean up (maybe!!! LOL).

The card I have here today is the one I made for our annual Christmas card. I had actually had it done before December 1st!!  I have not been that organized and ahead of schedule in a long time. It felt good. The only bad thing was that I didn't make enough.  But I managed to send out other cards, so cards did get sent!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On the left side is a 5" x 1-3/8" strip of Poppy Parade card stock. I had taped a 4-7/8" x 1-1/4" strip of the dotted paper from the "Santa's Workshop" Designer Series Paper pack.

I stamped and die cut the Santa. He is from the "Signs of Santa" set. I colored him after he was die cut.  I used to color and then cut but I've had the dies shift on me and ruin everything, so now I stamp, cut and then color.

The swirl is from the "Swirly Bird" bundle. I die cut them using the Dazzling Diamonds card stock. I glued it in place. I put the glue on the thickest parts and then I used a toothpick to stick it anywhere it was sticking up.

I stamped the words from the "Signs of Santa" set using Poppy Parade ink.  On the inside I stamped the rest of the words from the set ". . . and more".

I set Santa in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.  It was a quick card for me to make this year.  Or I thought it was anyway.  I did it in phases. I took an empty stamp case and I put a post it note on it with a list of what I needed to cut out.  I would cut things out when I needed to stretch my legs or if I felt I'd better take a minute or two to cut something out.  And all of a sudden I was ready to color!  Then I was ready to assemble.  It didn't feel like such a chore this year either!

I was happy with the way our card turned out and I'm sure those who received the card were surprised that it wasn't a snowman. I usually send cards with a snowman on it!!  Sometimes it's good to change things up a bit!

I hope your Christmas is merry and I wish you much love and happiness in the New Year!
