Hearts Come Home, Snow is Glistening, Christmas Card, 2018 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Well, I wish I had seen this card a month or so ago. It's a super simple and quick card to make.  I am pretty sure this set will be retiring and of course there will be something else I will like in the new stuff, so...  But I think I may make a few so I have some extra on hand for those last minute cards.  This year I did not make enough cards so I ended up sending out store bought ones!  *gasps*  Yes, you read that right!!! It will probably take me longer to type how to make it than it did to make it.  You can see the original here. I did change it a little.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Poppy Parade. I was going to use Real Red but I had more Poppy Parade than the Real Red, so I went with that.

The Whisper White layer on the top was cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".

I stamped the house on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock. The house is from the "Hearts Come Home" set.  I used Poppy Parade ink to stamp it.  I used the 1-1/8" square punch to punch it out.  I used the 1-1/4" square punch for the Poppy Parade layer.  I cut that layer from the 4" x 5-1/4" layer.  No one will see there's a square punched in the layer.

I taped the house layers together and taped them to the card front.  I needed to see where I wanted the words to go.  The words are from the "Hearts Come Home" set. I stamped them using Basic Gray ink. I didn't want to use black because I thought it would really pop and I want the focal point to be the reds.

The snowflake is from the "Snow is Glistening" set.  The original card had a tiny heart stamped there but I didn't have one.  Well, maybe I do but it would take a lot of digging in the retired sets to find it.  I stamped that snowflake using Poppy Parade ink.

I taped the layers together and the card was done.

Such a quick and sweet looking card!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
