I really like the new "Buffalo Check" background stamp but I have a lot of trouble getting it nice and solid. I did buy the unmounted one so I could use it in the Stamparatus. Even with the Stamparatus I did struggle to get a sharp image. I think I ended up stamping it four times to get it nice and solid. But the bottom line here is that I did get it the way I wanted it so it was worth it.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. I cut the card stock in half on the 8-1/2" side. This card opens at the bottom.
I cut my "Buffalo Check" background piece 4" x 5-1/4". I purposely used a quarter sheet so I could trim the edges. That is usually where I have the most trouble inking it. But today the center was my trouble area.
I stamped the reindeer from the "Seasonal Chums" set using black Memento ink on Crumb Cake card stock. I colored the antlers and hooves using the Crumb Cake marker. The ears were colored in with the Petal Pink marker. The bell was colored in using the Daffodil Delight marker. The ribbon and nose were colored in using the Real Red marker. And the dots on the back were colored in using the white Chalk marker.
I die cut a stitched oval from Whisper White card stock. Then I die cut a Basic Black scalloped oval using Basic Black card stock. I taped those two layers together. I set the oval layers in place using Dimensionals. I set the reindeer in place using Dimensionals.
The words are from the "Beautiful Blizzard" set using black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock. I set it in place with Dimensionals.
I had a gold foil snowflake left over from the "Snowfall" thinlits die set so I thought I would try to work it into the card. I glued it in place. Tape doesn't seem to want to stick to the inked area of the background. I added a tiny rhinestone to the center of the snowflake and then I added a couple more to the card front and it was done.
I REALLY like how it turned out. I LOVE this fun background!
