I'm not a big fan of today's card. I was trying to find a way to use the Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP) with the words on it. I failed!! But don't despair, I will try again another day!! LOL
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Mint Macaron.
Next I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock. To that I taped a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of the SDSP from the "Share What You Love" 12" x 12" paper pack. This SDSP has some shimmer to the images. The words don't but the images on the other side have the shimmer. In real life it's very pretty.
I cut a strip of the green SDSP 1-1/4" x 5-1/8". I cut a piece of Basic Black card stock 1-3/8" x 5-1/8" and taped it to the green strip. I taped the green strip layer to the SDSP layers. I took a piece of black sparkle ribbon about 7" long and taped the ends to the back of the layer. I used Scotch tape to hold the ribbon in place. I slipped the end of the ribbon under the piece I taped down and tied a knot and clipped the ribbon from the spool. I do it like that instead of cutting the piece off the spool so I don't waste as much ribbon.
The words are from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set and I stamped them using black Memento ink. I die cut them using the oval framelit dies. I also die cut a Basic Black scalloped oval for the layer. I taped the two ovals together and set them in place on front of the card using Dimensionals.
I taped the layers to the card front, added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card and it was done! It was simple enough to make but I don't care much for the look of it!!! I'll try to come up with something else using that word sheet. It was a fun card to make, I do like the layout!!
Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
