I have always loved this layout. There's just something about those rounded corners that intrigue me. This was a very fun and easy card to make too.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock that was cut at 4-1/4" on the 8-1/2" side. This card opens from the bottom.
I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) 2-1/2" x 4". Mine is Bermuda Bay from the 6" x 6" stacks. And I cut a Whisper White piece measuring 2-1/4" x 3".
The bird, flowers and branch is from the "Petal Palette" bundle. I stamped and die cut the flower and the bird using Whisper White card stock. Then I die cut the branch using Pear Pizzazz card stock.
I colored the flower using the Crumb Cake and Old Olive markers. I colored the upper part of the bird using the Crumb Cake marker and a Blender Pen. Then I colored the belly using Bermuda Bay ink and a Blender Pen.
I stamped the words from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set using black Memento ink. I took my 1-1/4" circle punch and slipped the corners into the punch and punched the edges as seen in the photo. I tied a piece of black Baker's twine around the piece three times and I tied a bow.
I set the DSP piece in place using Dimensionals. I add the Whisper White piece on top of the DSP using snail tape. Don't add tape to the left edge. I did and I had to slip in some Dimensionals to make sure it didn't stick to the card base. Well, first I had to remove that side from the card base. Then it dawned on me that I shouldn't have added tape there. DUH!!! I never learn!! LOL
I used a glue dot to tape the branch in place and then I set the bird in place using Dimensionals. I added glue dots to the back of the flower and the card was done.
I think it's a very pretty and stunning card. I'm hoping to make some Christmas cards using this layout. If I remember!!!
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
