Love What You Do, Beautiful Boutique, Share What You Love, Birthday Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Have you ever run across a some Designer Series Paper (DSP) or in this case Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP) and didn't know what do to with it, so you just never play with it?  Many times I will find one design in the pack that I don't care for or have a clue what to do with it.  in the "Share What You Love" SDSP this is the piece that I had no idea what to do with.  While surfing the net I ran across a card that used the SDSP and I was thrilled!!  I found a way to use it and I also liked the looks of it.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This piece is cut in half on the 8-1/2" side. This card opens from the bottom.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock to create a layer that helps the SDSP stand out more.  The original card
did not have the layer.  And on top of the Basic Black piece is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of the SDSP.

Next I wrapped some white Baker's twine around the card twice and tied a bow off to the right side.

The doily from the "Pearlized Doilies" pack. I turned the doily over because the pearly side was too shiny for this card. I set it in place using tiny glue dots.

I stamped the flower image from the "Love What You Do" set. I colored the flowers in using a Blender Pen and Cajun Craze ink. I didn't have the Grapefruit Grove markers or ink pad so the next closet color was a light muted Cajun Craze.  I like it, the colors are from the same family so they blend well together.  I die cut the second largest stitched circle and I set it in place over the doily using Dimensionals.  I think this was the most difficult part of the card.  Best tip here is to flip the image over and look where it is most centered then turn it over and set it in place.  Straighten out your bow and the card is done.

I liked how it turned out and I am still thrilled to have used up a piece of that SDSP that I found most difficult.  Now it makes me want to find some of the other DSP sheets that I have never used and work with this layout to create some fun cards and use up some retired papers.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
